RPI Hockey 2016 - 2017 (Part II): In Memory of Ed Weaver

Re: RPI Hockey 2016 - 2017 (Part II): In Memory of Ed Weaver

Next year: Returns with tOSU, RIT/Niagara, and surprisingly Maine.
Appert was actually able to get Notre Dame to come back to HFH (going to assume for 2, and that it isn't one of those share deals with Union)

Unsure on the other 3, although the WDT give a rumor that Clarkson might be 3 games.

Assuming the tOSU and RIT/Niagara games are on the road, would the Maine game(s) be at HFH since we went there this season?

Who or what is the WDT?

There should not be since it was not a disqualification.

Doesn't mean the league can't review it. One guy was saying it would have to be incredibly blatant for them to issue it with the playoffs looming, but I then reminded the guy that RPI get two minute minors for making a loud noise.

Does anyone know if the Ireland games are exempt?

Freeman got speared in the agats, I felt it in the stands, lol. He was down on the ice not moving for about three minutes, I was surprised a brawl didn't ensue. Years ago it would have been an ugly finish !

The Ireland games are not exempt because we are playing NCAA competition, similar to when we played UVM in Quebec. This is not the same as an "international tour", where once every four years, you can play exhibition competitions abroad.

ETA: There are special events that are specifically called out in the D-I bylaws that are exempt despite involving NCAA competition (Icebreaker, the HoF game we played this year, lower 48 playing an Alaska team in Alaska [at least for the lower 48 team], etc.), however playing a NCAA contest abroad is not.

Even FlagDUDETTE thought it was quite ugly. I was shocked there was no brawl as well, but things were already getting a bit chippy.
