That was a heck of a performance by Kasdorf on Saturday night.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

I posted this on the recruits thread, but I suspect that not everyone reads that. Since we have posters from NJ and PA who might be interested, I am posting this here also.

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs (NAHL) including RPI recruit Todd Burgess are making a lengthy eastern swing starting next weekend. In case anyone wants to go to any of the games, here they are.

12/11, 12/12 Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton, PA
12/18, 12/19 Middletown, NJ
1/2, 1/3 Aston, PA
1/8, 1/9 Johnstown, PA

I wonder if TB will be at Princeton to see RPI on 1/7. I would expect someone from the RPI coaching staff to watch him in Johnstown since PU is our only game then.

With talk of a few college hockey head coaches on the hot seat, the question of who might be in line to fill those potential vacancies has arisen............... The first assistant coach that comes to mind is Ben Barr, a former player at RPI and current associate head coach to Andy Murray at Western Michigan..... http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/201...ga-dumais-mayotte-pagliero-demichiel-oconnell

He's learned from the best coach in college hockey

Must be OGC. :D

Dec. 18 and 19 are possible for us. Middletown is not a bad ride and we have been there before. it will be a last minute decision based on weather and how our kitties are doing as we have one scheduled for surgery next week.

I may take a run at WBS. If I can get my hands on the schedule.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

When did Saratoga and Troy merge papers?

They are owned by the same company, are bleeding red ink and combined remaining staff to reduce costs and remain open. I believe the Record sold its press and is now printed on the Times-Union's press, resulting in a deadline that hits about the time that a 7 pm hockey game ends.

Newspapers all over the country are closing because they were not able to anticipate the explosion of the internet. There are too many dailies in and around the Capital District and several will end up closing in the next decade.

Not to mention, a growing number of people that are starting to distrust certain sections of the paper (sports usually not being one of those, yet is sadly part of the package deal of a newspaper)...

This doesn't surprise me, given the way the internet is growing. The only possible advantage that the papers still have over independent internet media are the official reporters with press credentials that schools will allow to cover the game as a means of advertising the school, including conferences (before/)after the game. I don't even know if such a credential would be considered for an independent reporter such as WaP, not to mention if there's any capital that would have to go into said recognition. If anything, big kudos has to go to Ken Schott for recognizing this explosion of internet media, embracing it in tandem with his newspaper duties as is evidenced with his radio show, even so far as to its recognition for determining preseason media voting within the ECAC.

If you're referring to the pipes, those are part of the goalie's equipment. Ha

Years ago, Patrick Roy said his he used to talk to the pipes every night... and he loved it when they talked back to him.
