Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Based upon the post-game conference at Messa and the shirt Riley Bourbonnais was wearing, this year's team slogan on the shirts (at least I assume it's this year and not one of the past two years) is "Our Watch". I assume, like years past, it's a "family secret" having special meaning for the coaches and the players, so we're not going to ever know the true meaning. I'm sure plenty of speculation could be had on its meaning, though.

It’s not alarming, as none of the injuries appear to be long-term but there’s a chance the Engineers will have to make the always-tough North Country trip without two top performers — senior Milos Bubela and freshman Evan Tironese..... http://www.troyrecord.com/sports/20151104/college-hockey-rpi-working-around-injuries

This, of course, is the ever reliable Ed Weaver reporting. Do you think that Ed knows a wrist from a shoulder (or an *** from an elbow)? :) ;) The quote from ET there isn't too optimistic.

In any case, I hope that Ed is correct.

I’m sure Ed was just quoting SA. I’m with you though, ET’s quote does not sound promising.

They couldn't decide what the injury was last year either.

On Tuesday, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs lost to the Powell River Kings 4-3 in overtime. Evan Tironese had an assist. He left the game with an injury in the second period. The announcers couldn't decide if it was his leg or shoulder. One talked to him between periods -- it was the right toe. They don't think that it was serious. http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/hockey_bo...8232&link=bchl

Tironese's line is now 19-8-25-33-28.

He would’ve fit right in....... Coinciding with the move, Hansch also announced that Oil Kings goaltender Alec Dillon had been placed on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury, precipitating Thursday’s trade. http://www.oilkings.ca/article/oil-kings-acquire-lee-from-giants

Gee, isn't that too bad. he will not get any sympathy here. And doesn't sympathy come up in the dictionary between $h1T and syphilis?

Whoa. I'd hate to see what would happen if he ever wound up on your surgery table. :D

I do not ever carry a grudge into the office or into surgery (actually once had to treat a former Gestapo officer who was in his late 80's). I can divorce that easily. But other than in medicine, I have as bad a temper as anyone except for my late mother and of course Jenny (who would be the first person I would want with me if I got into a bar fight).

Ralph, thanks for the lookup on Miers Moore's father, Scott 'Skeeter' Moore. I went to his stat page on HockeyDB and found he had scored 165 points in his career at UMD. But the best item on his page is his picture: hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=6095 . (Shout out to DrD: take the shortest route to the puck and...)

Fr. Joe- I was brought up in a family where my mother was a world class athlete with an even more world class temper. Her advice to me was to never like to lose. In fact, she did not even like to win. What she wanted from herself and from me was to win BIG and make it so bad on the opponent that they did not even want to come back and play again. She and my dad used sports as an example of how to live my life. Compete hard, and always be willing to do what is necessary to win. Whatever is necessary! I came home lots of times with a face that looked just as you see in that picture and the only question i was asked was "What did the other guy look like?"
