Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

I suppose articles are nice but I believe there's a something to be said about anonymity. At this point in the season, we're very much a work in process. Some promising things have happened but it's still very early. As some like to say, 'the sample size is small.'

I'm reminded when a reporter asked Seth Appert after Saturday's Union game about guarding against overconfidence and SA said "...we have a long way to go before we can feel overconfident." Well said.

Keep working on playing for one another and becoming a hard team to play. Believe in the process.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

The folks over on the Bentley thread said you just walk up day of and get tickets...so I guess you take the chance of getting shut out, but I doubt it will happen.

Looking back at attendance history for Bentley for the past couple of seasons over at collegehockeystats.net - they average around 500-600 in attendance per game, with a sellout crowd being 1,200. Odds are, getting tickets at the door won't be a problem.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Interesting comments from AD McElroy about Union's championship and what it would take to get RPI there.

Purportedly a much longer article on McElroy is coming out soon.

if my memory serves, that was their [Onion's] first one [national championship]. We also won one in 1954, so we have two. But I’m not counting

he didn't mention the 31-year cycle....

So they have video of Kasdorf getting run and Bourbonnais's penalty... https://t.co/xxCYPmNCs2

If that's a slash, I'm Ralph Baer.

Looked like a pretty chippy game on both sides with RPI causing the most mayhem prior to the Kasdorf incident. Yale will turn the other cheek and take advantage if it gets that way on Friday.

Funny how rivalry games often bring out the chippiness.

With Chip McDonald reffing, you're going to get plenty of PP opportunities anyway.

thanks for the link.

I thought this was a very strange comment:

‘How could Union win a national championship and RPI was very close? Same conference recruiting, how could we not quite get there?'

When was RPI very close? Did they make it to a Frozen four post-85, or something?

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

That was a great trip down memory lane, and almost no arguments. Maybe Mike Robinson for #5. Well done and a great way to start a Friday.

I sent Tom a message with my opinion. I too was in agreement with mostly everything. I have no trouble with his choice for #5.

Is Tom on here regularly? I'll send him a note as well.

Frequently around.

Ha! I really enjoyed your post on WaP, and as I mentioned above, brought back a lot of great memories. Hard to argue with any of your choices, I only mentioned Robinson to be a little bit of a contrarian, and was really well done. Thank you.
