). I think it is actually quite a feat for any freshman to be leading this team since SA has always made it well known that he counts on his upperclassmen to lead and usually plays the freshmen sparingly at first. Also, keep in mind that DM lost some games to mononucleosis this year and actually may not have been 100% for a while after coming back and played on the 4th line for a bit. Also, having the officials call back his obviously good goal up at Quinnipiac could have helped his numbers a bit more.
Grant me another freshman coming in next year who can have the same kind of success and I'll be a happy RPI fan. No, wait, i think I will need a bit more than that. Give me two solid defensive defensemen also.
That is not bad company to be in-Hamelin, Croxton, Juneau and Servinis. 2 had excellent RPI NCAA careers, one played for 6 NHL teams and scored over 150 NHL goals and 550 points, and one won an NCAA championship (and may have been a tad off sidesThose two did lead as freshmen. I don't think anyone else did in the last 20 years. Before that. Juneau and Servinis.
