Jeff?
Was that the ref who was famous to RPI fans for Fulton's Folly which is now so long ago that I don't even remember what happened.![]()
It'd probably still be cheaper than the 'tute.![]()
Yes, and I believe it was I who coined the term for that game. The game was a regular season game between Cornell and RPI, and RPI was fighting for home ice in the playoffs. Matt Murley "scored" two goals within five minutes to give RPI and 3-2 lead, but Jeff Fulton had waved them both off, the first one because he said Murley's goal's didn't cross the goal line. Cornell wen on to win the game 2-1, denying RPI home ice in the playoffs. That game was 3/1/02, and wayyyyyy before cameras above the nets. Needless to say, Dan Fridgen was not a happy camper after that game.

Today is my annual shout-out to the RPI Pep Band!
May you "March Forth" and lead us to victory this weekend!

I see the article is dated 3/2 but it either came out last night or this morning. It wasn’t there yesterday afternoon. Great for Drew but it must’ve been a slow month for ECAC Fr. as those really aren’t eye-popping numbers.Surprised this hasn't been posted yet: Drew also won Rookie of the Month

I think that Doc stuffed the ballot box.![]()
Before the home game vs Yale I said to Drew’s Dad that it was going to be nice to see Drew outplay Baiocco. Paul waved his arms saying no, no you’ll put a jinx on it. Of course Baiocco scored and when I later saw Paul he just laughed.Didn't have to. Drew has showed all season that he is a top recruit who has quickly become a top freshman forward. BTW one of the others considered for the monthly award was John Baiocco. jen and i had the pleasure of watching him for 3 years at Delbarton along with DM. he is another good one and i wished RPI had been looking at him also. That team was loaded-the goalie Colton Phinney starts for Princeton.
I am not very familiar with the recruits coming in next year but i truly hope that we have a couple more like Drew. There are a few things that are just not teachable. You cannot teach size and you really cannot teach speed.

Turk: Perhaps not eye popping but it seems to me a bit unusual(especially with this coach) to have a freshman leading the team at the end of the league season in both goals and points. I think it may have happened twice in the past 25 years with Kevin Croxton and before that perhaps Craig Hamelin-but i am going strictly by memory and am not sure of either of these.
Tyler Helfrich in 07-08 with Polacek 1 point behind him.... http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0002322008.htmlThose two did lead as freshmen. I don't think anyone else did in the last 20 years. Before that. Juneau and Servinis.
Perhaps this is why administrative support is so down... http://poly.rpi.edu/2015/03/04/uncovering_rensselaerrsquos_finances/
