RPI Hockey 2014-2015 Part II: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015 Part II: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

and I'll bet you even used the forefinger on each hand, too! ;)

I sure did! ;) Honestly, that's quite the improvement from my college days when I had been known to attempt typing with my *** cheeks when drunk ... Oh my the things we look back on and think what was wrong with me? :o #NoJoke

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015 Part II: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

We have so many Injuries every year appert should of brought more freshman in and had a fuller bench that's on him
Keep in ind the losses of Haggs & Zalewski and then Tironese deciding he needed another year of Jrs. It was also speculated that Fornaris was going to be here this year (a year in the NAHL has been good for his game though). Some of these decisions are made early some at the last moment. SA pretty much had to scramble once Zalewski joined Haggs (hello KennyG). Would love to see 16 Forwards (15 min.) though.

Do you know if the 1985 semi vs. Minn-Duluth is posted anywhere?
I think I have a grainy copy on VHS somewhere. Never could figure out how RPI got a power play out of the scuffle at the end of 1st(?) OT. Perhaps I'll get a bunch transferred to DVD, because, as uncle Otto used to say, "if the present time sucks, then live in the past!"

It is pretty obvious from this year's injuries that 15 is needed. OTOH, 9 defensemen is probably overkill.

I couldn't figure it out either. We may not have gotten a similar beneficial result in the 30 years since. :(

Pierre Langevin got the butt end of a stick from a UMD forward when skating off . This started the whole 'discussion'. Espn showed the game the next day and the vhs tape I got from a friend was transferred to dvd that I look at and hope every year

You get a couple wins, and start getting all snarky ... geesh ;)

Congrats on the win - your team played really well

Thanks, it feels nice to finally win a couple against you guys. Lately you guys have really owned us! We are due for quite a few more wins in the next few years if we all believe in turnabouts fair play? ;)

John Carter will be added to the Ring of Honor on 2/14. http://www.rpiathletics.com/news/2015/2/4/MHOCK_0204150348.aspx

It always seems odd when they do this when the game would draw anyway.

Edit: I think that he will be the first American to be honored.
Edit*2: Yes, I know that Kearns lives in the US now.
Edit*3; And I don't know if Oates and Brinkworth are also US citizens now.

Not much activity on this thread or the weekly threads. Is this an indication that apathy has set in for large numbers of RPI fans?
Very tough stretch run coming and this team needs all the support it can get. I think this is a piviotal month for the program and the coaching staff. Time to put together some wins. LGR!

Actually the weekly thread has gotten more activity than most of the weekly threads. Of course it isn't all by RPI fans.

I don't think so; it seems more likely to me that those people who prefer to have thoughtful reasonable conversations are weary of being ridiculed and shouted down by a few [redacted]. Ralph had reported previously that jericho had received credible threats of physical harm over his views, for example. That kind of thing has a pretty chilling effect on people.

Are you using the college definition of "thoughtful reasonable conversations" that involves essentially a circle jerk, or are you referring to the open minded "thoughtful reasonable conversations"?

In today's day and age, especially in colleges, in order to be "welcomed to the conversation", you are required to prescribe to a specific set of fundamental beliefs. Sometimes, said beliefs can be so stringent that it would negate "thoughtful reasonable conversations", because bringing up the topic would imply one does not prescribe to the fundamental beliefs, and therefore is either shut out, or the party requiring said beliefs chooses to shut himself/herself out.

I know you're referring to me as one of said people, and you don't have to censor or beat around the bush in the name of "political correctness" when it comes to me. Contrary to popular belief, I do not troll on this site. There is always purpose and reasoning behind what I type here. The fact that it may not prescribe to a specific set of fundamental beliefs offends some people. Everyone has goals they would like to see, and I'm sure many will disagree not only on the goals, but also on the process by which said goals are met.
