RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

Hope the Nanne kid comes back after this injury. I know if I was his dad I would put him on the next train out of Troy

My father used to commute to Troy on the train when he was going to RPI, but the Troy train station, which used to be just down the hill from West Hall, was long gone by the time I arrived on campus in 1966. Unless there are plans of which I am unaware calling for the immediate construction of a new station and resumption of passenger service, Nanne is going to be waiting quite a while for that next train.

He may as well play some hockey while he's waiting for it. :)

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

He shouldn't have played he was still hurt daaa. Does everything have to be spelled out for you?
Where would he go? Really? as far away from Seth as possible. Are you really that naive? You think he couldn't find a competitive place to play hockey when he totally recovers.

I would think/hope a Dr would have to clear him. Weather or not he should have been given another week or two off just to be safe is a fair question IMO. I am afraid with his history of shoulder injuries we will never see him reach his full potential. From day one with his injury history I felt he was a gamble type of recruit. If he can get healthy and stay that way lou and RPI win. If he is chronically hurt RPI kind of looks foolish for bringing him in but at least lou will have been given a shot at playing D1 hockey.

if Lou Nanne's grand-kid ended up playing D1 outside of Minnesota, or even worse, in the East/ECAC, something is up. It doesn't pass the sniff test, unfortunately.

I don't necessarily agree with that. Lou Nanne (the grandfather) is a smart guy. He spent time in management after his playing career, and was involved in the management of the US Olympic team.
Knowing the injury history of his grandson, he just might have been looking for the best education he could get while trying to continue his hockey career. It makes sense to send him to the ECAC for the education and the hockey.

He is a biomedical engineering major.

He was originally committed to Minnesota. BTW, his brother is going to go to tOSU.

Respect your opinion as usual EHF, but I'm sticking w/ my analysis. He left UMinn, and ended up here. Usually don't see that, and ones that do, don't go great. RPI had a hotshot goalie leave a big program out west, come here, and was a flop. Can't remember his name though. It was awhile ago.

Edit - I got this wrong, the goalie I remember actually left RPI for greener pastures. Oops!

Appert did coach Nanne with the 2011 Hlinka squad and Matt Neal’s Dad is connected with the Minn. Wild scouting Dept.....just sayin’.

Nope. The only way a Nanne would deign to play with RPI was if he were human garbage unworthy of the name. Clearly.

What's in a name? BC got Ben Eaves and Patrick Eaves, while RPI got cousin Tyler Eaves. RPI has injury-plagued Zach Schroeder while the Gophers had Jordan. For whatever reason, RPI rarely gets the best player in the"" family", however extended you want to make that term. These players go to high-profile "program" schools, whose hockey is better and whose academic demands are less..... well.... demanding. RPI is forced to take some leaps of faith on guys with injury histories. "Human garbage" seems WAY severe, for it may be that Nanne, who I really enjoy, is one of those "leap of faith" guys.

Alright alright, maybe not as far fetched as I thought :D ....still doesn't seem right that his lineage takes him to the ECAC...

Ralph - it was Kudebeh.

I may be wrong but I took lugnut’s Post as sarcastic.

I think that we got the better Zalewski. The jury is still out, but I think that Bourbonnais is better than his father who played D-III hockey at RIT (although I think he put up excellent numbers). There are more players whom I could name, but too long ago.

As soon as I read this, I thought (a) he's "obviously" being sarcastic, and (b) the sarcasm will be lost on a few.

EDIT. sigh. I then read a few posts further....
