I know that Kasdorf has let in at least one soft goal in each of the last three games, but he has also made far more excellent saves in all of those games. I don't know if he is playing through injury of just playing himself back into game shape.
I guess we will find out Friday night.

CM: We feel for you-our list of losses in 2014 was mind boggling and it is continuing into this year. We realize that our cats are aging, but it sure hurts when they leave us. Hopefully we will make it Saturday and meet up there. If there we will be at our usual seats on the side where the balcony seats are to the left and somewhere around the blue line closest to the balcony.

Just a medical opinion, not a hockey opinion-he has not looked as fluid since his return. Not sure what that mean in hockey but in medicine it indicates a continuing weakness or injury of some sort.
Also need to add-recent information just published has seriously questioned how concussions are treated with absolute rest and the length of such total rest. Many years ago it was thought that the brain needed complete rest for a short time and then some gradually increased activity to recover from a concussion. It was felt back then that the faster you got back into action, perhaps the faster you would improve. Then came the era of absolute rest for as long as possible. Some called it mummification of the brain to insulate it completely from all stimuli. That has lasted for a time, but most recent studies(far better controlled than ever done for the mummification process) have now issued a new gold standard. If possible a ;concussion should be rested only proportionately to the depth of damage and minor to even medium level episodes should be rested completely for only 48-72 hours before slowly reintroducing activity and even competitiveness. I guess, the more things change, the more they remain the same.
Not sure if the above information is pertinent here but this team has had it's share of concussive episodes the past few years and maybe this sheds a new light on things for us also.

I watched the RPI games this week end and I'm wondering why he didn't play Diebold one of the 2 nights... If Kasdorf is not 100% in the game, that would be a good way to get him back to speed without risking more injuries.

Wow, that's reaching! Can you stretch it a little further and make it an omen that the bigger cat will suffer a loss TO RPI? I'm not interested in helping Union. :)

After the anger displayed by coach I expected 1 more week off or a stripping of letters. Maybe the whole ordeal was more of a motivational thing than a rules thing. I guess everyone on the team now knows the consequences of whatever the screw up was. I wonder how much these 4 will help this weekend. I predict at least one bone head penalty from luke or perhaps he will do something to fire up our opponent the way he did Harvard. Coach has sent a message I just don`t think it is the right one.

I don't mean to "kit"nap the conversation here - that would be "cat"egorically wrong (somebody stop me) but sadly our cat wasn't old - she was only 9. Jordan Alford named her and her sister with hockey-related names for us when we got them as kittens. It was a shock to lose her since she was only ill for a couple of weeks. But I certainly do sympathize with your losses too - our cats are family as I'm sure yours are.

Re: Resignation of Mr. James Knowlton, Director of Athletics

I write to inform you of the resignation of Mr. James Knowlton as director of athletics, effective March 1. Mr. Knowlton has accepted the position of Director of Athletics at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

For almost seven years Mr. Knowlton has worked with administrators and faculty to foster excellence in all intercollegiate athletic teams, support student-athletes on and off the field, and in planning for the future, which included development of key programs.

Among Mr. Knowlton's many accomplishments are filling numerous coaching and administrative support positions, improving two-way communication with the student-athletes, establishing an academic liaison program, and implementing an athletics branding initiative. He also increased revenue generation and enhanced fundraising, including the first-ever endowed head coaching position, helped to facilitate renovations to the Houston Field House, and worked with the President on the completion of the East Campus Athletic Village.

Athletically, the department enjoyed a great deal of success under Mr. Knowlton. Eight teams made NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Division I men's hockey team for the first time in 16 seasons, the women's lacrosse team, which advanced to the national quarterfinals for the first time ever, and the women's cross country team, which made its first-ever national championship appearance. In addition, individually, there were numerous National All-Americans, including the first in school history in both women's soccer and men's cross country, and many National CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

On behalf of the Rensselaer Board of Trustees, and our faculty, students, staff, and administration, I am proud to see a leader such as Mr. Knowlton, who is leaving a positive imprint for our student-athletes and our community, move on to play an important role in developing leaders for the United States Air Force and our nation.

Please join me in wishing Mr. Knowlton well as he begins the next chapter of his professional career.

In the next few days I will be naming an interim director of athletics as we commence a national search for a permanent director of athletics.

I think the Colonel should stop on his way home and buy the winning lottery ticket. He is the luckiest AD ever. Apparently win/loss records of Hockey and football along with contract negotiating skills mean nothing to air force.Which program is in worse shape at RPI football or hockey. Good lord!
