Wow, 58 save shutout, very impressive!

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019

Impressive! Have a bad feeling about today given this sort of thing usually doesn't happen twice in a row, but sometimes you just need to buy enough time to win.

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019

Neutral Zone shows Taylor Zahirnyi, a 5'5", 130lb, RD, born 8/8/00, playing for the New Jersey Colonials 19U team, as committed to RPI for next fall. They rate her at 3.25.

I did not notice her mentioned elsewhere as an RPI recruit. Her twitter page is protected, so I can't tell if she has tweeted the commitment.

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019

Wow! I hate to be negative (my rep is that I am an incurable optimist about RPI womens hockey) but 8 goals in 8 games! This team does not have as much speed as previous Engineer teams, but somehow they need to find a way to generate a little bit of offense. May need to focus on crashing the net, getting in or near the blue paint and then being nasty. Risk taking the odd penalty (usually in those situations the defending team gets called) and more than a few bumps and bruises.

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019

2019 recruit Emily King received an honorable mention in this list of top Minnesota HS players https://www.stateofhockey.com/news_article/show/966789.
Yes but Chris Dilks likes Maddie Peterson at #10.........10. Maddie Peterson, Princeton High School(Committed to RPI)

Peterson isn’t likely to draw much attention playing for Princeton, which is outside of the metro area and not a traditional power, but she was consistently impressive in the fall Elite League. An excellent skater with decent hands, she scored 30 goals last season, and could improve on that this year. https://www.sbncollegehockey.com/hi...4416/2018-2019-minnesota-ms-hockey-watch-list

I suspect that Dilks is more accurate as MS gives Peterson a 4.00 and King 3.75. Indeed it is good to see both mentioned. Hopefully, at least one can put the puck in the net. As hab wrote, we currently are lacking much goal scoring ability.

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019

Big four point weekend that we'll need for the playoff push. I'll post my first KRACHy prediction post tomorrow or monday.

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019

A lot of season left to play, but RPI is off to a decent start, at least as far as the Ws and Ls go. Basically we lost the games we were "supposed" to lose and won the games we "should" win if we want to make the playoffs. Right now we're projecting to be four points clear of the playoff line (and seven points below the home-ice cutoff), so we're in good position moving forward. We will want to, you know, score more goals, but baby steps.

RPI KRACH (RRWP): 62.08 (0.4027)

Re: RPI Engineers 2018-2019

The Engineers remain severely challenged in goal production, but after watching both games this weekend I am back to being somewhat optimistic about the season. Granted, it was only Brown and Yale, (and playing at HFH), but the team looked good. Our strength is goaltenders (plural, now, clearly), but there were many other positives. We play a pretty solid game on defence; our breakouts are far better than in previous years (greater use of stretch passes); our PP really moves the puck well (although Brown made them look good with their incredibly passive PK strategy); and Orosz, for one, demonstrated the kind of drive in the offensive zone that should eventually result in more goal production.
