RPI Engineers 2017-2018

Is there a video feed for the games this weekend? I don't see a link, but do remember watching games at RPI online in past seasons. It would be hard to understand a tech/engineering school with no live video.

Neither links for the men's nor the women's games this weekend are on http://www.rpitv.org/ yet. I would expect them all to be televised although I do not know for certain. Conceivably there is a problem because RPI is playing an NCAA D-3 football playoff game Saturday afternoon.

Not uncommon to see the link close to game time

The football game is away, would they take everything?

I doubt that they would go to the football game. They may not even be allowed to. It might mean however that it will be done without an announcer as has sometimes been the case in the past.

There are now links from the RPI schedule although not at RPI-TV.

Solid game by the Engineers today in their 1-1 tie with UNH. Team is playing some good disciplined hockey, strong on defence, few penalties, good goal tending. If they could just get a couple of players who would drive hard to the blue paint ....

RPI definitely put UNH off their normally aggressive offensive style. I kept waiting for an adjustment, but it never came.
Today I expect a more up tempo game.

Pretty good split the hard way there. Not sure if it was the same linesman who returned, but hopefully that isn't too bad.

They missed a few half open nets that could have made it a win and win.

Happy Birthday to Coach Vines

Re: RPI Engineers 2017-2018

A pair of ties against a relatively strong opponent pushes our KRACH slightly higher, leading the simulator to be ever so slightly more optimistic in our chances. There's still a nearly two-win gap between us and 6th place, but we now sit nearly three wins inside the playoffs, so there's plenty of reason to be excited as we continue to patiently wait for more games that matter beyond giving us a chance to develop our process. In case you're curious, we sit about 11 points behind SLU in fourth place, so that's basically never going to happen unless we turn into a different team.

RPI KRACH (RRWP): 61.40 (0.4019)

MCTs (Mean/Median/Mode/Range):
Points - 19.28 / 19 / 19 / 5 - 35

Playoffs - 86.0%
Most likely opponent - at Colgate (28.4%)

Near the end of this interview Dr. McElroy mentions the possibility of the women's team going to N. Ireland.

Worth believing him? has he truly taken an interest in the women's hockey program?

I know nothing about this besides for that short statement, but my gut feeling is that the organizers mentioned that they were thinking about starting a similar tourney for women and asked him if there was any interest.
