RPI @ Cornell (Saturday, 25 February 2012)

Re: RPI @ Cornell (Saturday, 25 February 2012)

I probably won't start a thread for next week until tomorrow. If someone else wants to when things clear up, do so.

OK, lets keep the team that came to play this weekend.
I don't know what they did with the team that played last weekend, but I am all for the new guys.
All the playoff games will be played on the road. I think that works in our favor. :)

It's been a long, long time since we won at Lynah during the regular season. That drought has ended!

OK-why did I waste all my time listening and watching the first 20+ games of this season? I have not gotten to see the REAL RPI team until the last part of the season. Sort of reminds me of watching professional basketball-nothing much happens for 46 minutes and then you can tune in and watch the final 2 minutes and see the important part of the game. Just an unbelievalbe show of heart this weekend by an RPI team. Given up for dead-they come into Central NY and sweep. I have followed this time forever it seems-but sometimes you just get the surprise of you rlife. Graet effort boys-Now that we finish 10th-let's take this kind of game into the playoffs and make some other team sweat.

I like this team. Was wondering where they were all season...kept expecting them to show up to each new game. Glad they finally did! :)

Just did an embarrassing Tiger Woods style fist pump in my living room. Who cares, I hate Cornell. Great win!!

Re: 1-1

I do not know who we end up playing next weekend. But we do match up well with a few teams. I just took out my tickets for Atlantic City to make sure i really still have them. There is still hope. Guys are stepping up that were invisible all year. Great goaltending, effective defense, and scoring a bit more than we had been. This is going to be a nice ride home for the team.

Re: 1-1

OK, came home about an hour ago. Here's my takes:

1. On that first "goal controversy", the puck was ON THE LINE. It NEVER completely crossed the line. It's about the only good call those stripes made.
2. The second "goal controversy", my guess would be either the whistle blew (which could explain why it wasn't reviewed, although it was the second quick whistle Iles got), or we kicked it in. Since it was front of me, given the body pile-up, it had to be either one or both, as there's no way it went in off a stick.
3. Cornell plowed into Merriam. Nothing called. Heck, I'm surprised they didn't make an excuse to call something on us like the last time.
4. Interferences, holdings, picks set, ALL NIGHT. NOTHING CALLED! I bet Fat Mike would STILL complain about the reffing.
