RPI@Colgate 2/8/25

Strangely enough, this might have been our best game of the year.
We had many great looks and all were stopped by a very hot goalie.
Our goalie made one mistake and it cost us two goals.
The first was obvious, the second, he did not have enough time to settle down before they put another on in the net.
We never stopped pushing the play and continued to put pressure on Takacs, but to no avail.
We played well did not get the result.
All that said, I already forgot the Freakout.

Did not get to see this one but had a friend who was in Hamilton at the game who said RPI deserved a better fate (does not make me feel much better). Outplayed a good Colgate team for much of the time and yes, a bad goalie mistake led to the first goal and perhaps had him still unsettled for the second one. The power play goal against was something we just see too much of and probably would have been the winner if not for the previous ones mentioned. Sometimes you play pretty well but it is just either not good enough or not meant to be. Can you imagine what a difference we would have seen all season so far if only one thing was changed? If our short handed defense was not at about 70% but was clicking at a more respectable 85%? Not just in the number of goals scored against but how often we have been playing from behind early because of that? Not sure how that is corrected but it is obvious that we have not addressed that and it has cost us.
