Re: RPI @ Brown 1/29/10

Anyway...

It appears that in tonight's game we'll get the services of Derek Wahl and Nick Litterio for calling goals and penalties, with Kenneth Gates and Jean-Yves Roy on the lines.

Re: RPI @ Brown 1/29/10

I'll be listening in from HFH tonight during the women's game vs. QPac so probably won't post here much. I'll have live updates from the women's game on twitter @without_a_peer if anyone wants to keep up with it (no radio coverage tonight).

Re: RPI @ Brown 1/29/10

Thanks for the ref standpoint, JCraw. Litterio has been pretty decent and very fair with his calls (granted I think he's new; I've only seen him do games this year), and Wahl wasn't too bad. This should be a good hard game.

Last time we needed a decent string of penalties to "soften up" Brown before getting anything going. Will we be able to come out in blazes to start? We'll find out in about 11 hours.

Re: RPI @ Brown 1/29/10

This one could be a very interesting match up. Brown is certainly no pushover. Special teams may be the deciding factor and this year we seem to be able to handle those situations so much better. Just stay away from any 5 on 3's against-no reason to give any gift goals. Expecting a low scoring hard fought game. Go Red!

I don't know about that one. Brown has given up a lot of goals lately. We are due to break out and put a few in. Chase is overdue. I can see this being a 4-3 or 5-3 game.

Re: RPI @ Brown 1/29/10

As long as there's two points waiting for us at the end of 60 minutes, I could care less.

JM, I can see us getting 4 or 5, but I don't see brown getting more than 2.
If we don't come out looking ahead to tomorrow nights game, we should be able to take this one.
If we are not ready for Brown, SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!

We should know a lot in the first 10 minutes. We have to come out with spirit. We can't afford to come out of the dressing room with anything less than a full effort. I agree, we really should not be looking further ahead than this one.

Re: RPI @ Brown 1/29/10

I predict that Brown will try to goon it up tonight. If the pp is clicking it should be 2 pts if not it could be a tough night.

Distinctly possible-a lot will depend on how the officials call the game. I used to worry when a lot of penalty calls were made-with the way this team has played on special teams I am not too concerned unless we go down to 3 men on the ice.
