RPI at RIT, Friday, November 25, 2011

Re: RPI at RIT, Friday, November 25, 2011

He doesn't seem to give up the rebounds that York left, especially as a freshman.

I noticed that also. He seems to have things under pretty good control all of the time. He could turn out to be a real good one for us.

Agree, with the exception of the end of the second, where he gave up a few rebounds, he pretty much smothered anything he touched. Finally some puck-luck tonight for the Engineers with RIT ringing two off the crossbar...

Good game for Diebold. Good game for the team in terms of a win.
Now lets get back to practice and be ready for the ECAC.

Anyone heading to Lake Placid in a couple weeks to see the Union game? Thinking about it myself...

Re: RPI at RIT, Friday, November 25, 2011

The good-our goalie was excellent. The penalty kill could not be better. At the end we prevented them from pulling the goalie.

The bad-other than the one major penalty, we still have no scoring and we just do not finish the few chances we create. The breakout play still needs work.
But a win is a win and it feels so much better this weekend. On to Princeton and let's go red!!!

Impressive win for RPI. In control the whole game, despite refs' attempts to even the game. RIT HD broadcast in Rochester very clear.

Im debating it myself, if they can string a few games together like they played tonight then maybe we can get on a roll.

Finishing is the big thing. Could have been 3 or 4 to 0, Lee had a slam dunk on a 3 on 2 and didnt really get a shot off, had a few partial breakaways as well. Im not going to get greedy though, I liked their game tonight.

Third period was their best as far as chances... Looked like they wore RIT out towards the end. Higgs and Lee show a lot of effort all night, and Schroeder really has some wheels!

Doc, I have liked Diebold since the first time I saw him. His positioning is excellent and he follows the puck real well.
I don't know what we will do if Kasdorf wants to come in next year.

IMO he's either coming next year or not at all. I wouldn't expect an NHL draft choice to want to delay another year.

Re: RPI at RIT, Friday, November 25, 2011

at the game last night, after reading the thread I'm wondering if I was at THIS game:confused:. I thought it was the best game they've played all year, granted, not much to go by. They wore RIT out by the 3rd, it was very evident to those there. "D-Bold" was..HUGE. Schroeder dominated that one PK with his speed & doggedness. Bergin? ***! is he thinking lately. Couple of the 6 RPI penalties were questionable, Curadi & Leonard's come to mind. The 5 minute was deserved! Refs did seem to be trying to evening things up. Still, 2 goals in a 3 minute span & nothing to show for for 57 minutes. At the rate Princeton has not been scoring are we possibly looking at a 6-5 (win, of course) game next week  3 wins, 2 with Luke in the lineup...I'm just saying.
