Didn’t Alex save the life of one of his teammates when the teammate got his neck sliced open by a skate? I think that happened up in Cheel. Knew right then he was going to be a successful doctor.

It is a good advertisement for RPI any way you frame it. Of course there a number of kids that are primarily chasing an NHL dream but I think there's an audience that will appreciate success in other fields, even if there's not a hockey hook.

Among the many benefits of an RPI education, it also has a lot to offer in terms of positioning students for careers in finance given the various courses and majors that develop quantitative skills--if you want to make big bucks ASAP, that's the industry that has some of the best odds.

Alex was indeed among the people who sprung into action to aid Brock Higgs in Huntsville. In addition to the alert first responders, there was good fortune in that major arteries had not been damaged. I don’t see Smith playing that far down the lineup. I wonder if they move one of the left shot forwards to play on the right side.

Hadland is a left shot. When I saw Sezenack’s lines I made a mental note to look at his highlights. Most of his action was at LW, but it appears he has played quite a bit on his off-side. He looks comfortable there. There were a number of examples where he drove hard on the RW boards or, when the puck entered on the left side, searching for open ice between the circles for one-timer goals.

I’d still like to see us add another RW (and LD), but at least we’ve got 4 guys used to being on the right if Sitar is at C.

Edit: Some of the confusion may be from Elite Prospects. For some reason their profile pic for Harland shows a righty in a shot that appears to be from a Devils’ development camp.

I’m betting on next year. He’s a solid, but not dominant, 07 LW, which would not seem to be a priority for us this fall. Meanwhile Brampton traded off a lot of experienced players so they probably view him as a good candidate to provide leadership and continuity. Maybe they even keep him for an overage year but I’m guessing just one more, particularly if the NCAA adopts the new eligibility rules.
 
I realise this won’t be the way it goes as it requires a couple players to play their off-wing but wouldn’t mind seeing this. I feel like Gavin/Yurchuk are top 6 skill-sets, still need to prove it, or 4th liners. Boom or bust. I’d also like to see Smith in the top 6. Even as a 20 year old, 33 goals in the dub is no joke. This line up also blends hard/soft skill together. I also think Hadland/Lodewyk are perfect 3rd liners shut down/physical players with offensive upside.
