RPI 2026-27: Houston Field House, We Have Lift-off!

From what I can gather, the odds for our game against Army has not changed at all - probably because of a total lack of interest in betting on an exhibition game. Still almost dead even. What I have found though is very early odds on the Ohio State weekend having us as a 1.5 goal underdog for the first game. Not what I consider great but probably much better and closer than anything we would have seen a year ago.
Klassek is playing on the top pairing. No way he’s on the 3rd pairing. Him and sobi are going to play over 20 minutes a game. Motew is likely playing over hildy. I do think hildy will get some playing time though. He’s a solid defender

Sorry, I wasn’t putting them in order but I believe these are what they’ve been running with in practice and what we will see to start against Army next weekend. But time will tell.

Thanks for the reminder Doc.... RPI couldn't be bothered to include the Army exhibition in the schedule posted online ....seriously folks, do we even have a sports information official or dept. ? BTW, that's a 6PM start time according to the ARMY website.
In looking at the Army roster for the upcoming exhibition game, I find it a little unusual that they have both a large number of very big players and a large number of rather small players. With not a whole lot in between. Several players at 6'2 -6'4 and just as many at 5'9 - 5-10. One thing will be for certain, they will all be in incredible physical shape even this early in the season and play a full 60 minute game as they always seem to do against us.
Also, looking at their roster, the major field of study for many of these boys is rather impressive. Not what you usually see from players at other schools.

lf not for everyone posting here, we would not be getting much information at all. I was not kidding a while back when I posted that we need to have a major in publicity and advertising at RPI. The RPI athletic website does not get updated nearly as it should be. And where is the complete information for each player such as height and weight?? At least we have that for football and we get a team photo to boot!!!

Doc I’ve been to probably 50 Army games over my lifetime and the one thing you can always expect from Army is they play extremely hard and they play a full 60 minutes. It’s been like this for decades. Not the most skilled team but they will outwork you if you come in thinking it’s an easy game against them. The Ivey brothers are very good and forseilus is skilled. Ironically coach lang is modeling his RPI teams after his time at West Point. Hard skill and a full 60 minutes

I think the exhibition was on the page when the schedule was first released, but was taken down as it had the wrong date (AWP hosts Union this Saturday).
It also doesn't look like the Freakout weekend has been officially announced, even though there is only one home weekend in February--unless the month of the event is being changed.

According to the ticketing site the Freakout is January 30 against SLU.
Unless there is some advertising / notification of the venue change for the women’s game this Friday, how can RPI expect anyone to go?
A lot to digest here and worth an in depth read. Cannot argue with your conclusions and especially with the final tiers you propose. i do feel that with so many changes this year for all sorts of reasons not the least of which is the abundance of WHL talent arriving all over the place, it is really difficult to make any sort of pin point accurate predictions (other than QU perhaps). I do see us near the top of the tier you placed us in (perhaps as high as 6th or 7th) but only if the chemistry starts to develop early for this large group of new boys in the Lang system. Looking at the schedule there seems to be enough games against beatable teams for them to build some confidence and if that happens;, we might see a little upward surprise when we get to the ECAC part of the season. If not, then 8th or 9th would probably be about what we should expect. Thanks for the incredible work.My yearly ECAC preview

That’s a Good question? Maybe the field house will be ready? On a separate note the box office really likes to wait to the last minute to get the season tickets out? Days away and I still have no tickets.
If you want physical tickets, the box office will print them for a charge. But you have to ask them to do so. Otherwise they emailed mobile tickets. Mobile tickets cannot be printed. Nor can they be put into your Apple Wallet. You have to pull up the email for each game. This coming from an engineering school. We got our hanging tag for parking in the mail today.
