Odds for the weekend - Hobart is a 1 point favorite of us in Football in Troy
Our girls are a 2 goal underdog in both games this weekend at Minnesota State/ Mankato
And although I cannot fathom how you set odds or bet on an exhibition game - We are the slightest of underdogs in Men's hockey at Army for the Oct weekend game.

Any odds for the HFH to be available for the OSU games?
Too close to call from my perspective. Shame it had to be like this and I just hope it does not materially affect the performance of the team.
In something of a scheduling oddity, RPI and Hobart played the same two non-league opponents, Utica and Brockport, the last two weekends.
Hobart lost to Utica, but only by 7 points (RPI lost to them by 24). Hobart beat Brockport, 27-14 (RPI lost to them by 35).
If RPI is only a 1-point underdog this weekend, somebody's putting a whole lot of weight on the home field advantage.

Has anyone noticed an ECAC Pick the Standings contest thread?
RPI football at the half - RPI 10 (and could have been more) Hobart 0. They have played a very good 30 minutes and other than one interception deep in Hobart territory could be further ahead. After the past 2 weeks, color me surprised!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least so far.
Jenny and I are at a local pub watching FloSports in disbelief right now as the RPI ladies have scored 2 goals in the first couple minutes of the first period to lead 2-0. What in the world is going on??? I doubt this will continue like this but I am certainly not complaining.

i don't really think so - Both Utica and Brockport had the one thing on offense we just cannot seem to deal with - a good passing game with a quarterback that can release the ball before the pressure gets to them and who can escape the pocket. They ate us up. This week we were never in any danger as Hobart simply could not run the ball at all and we found the solution to whatever pass offense they tried to mount. next week should be like a breather for us but later in the season we get to play Ithaca and Union and those games will determine the Liberty League final standings.
A bit of combined football and weather history - on Sept. 27, 1975, RPI was scheduled to play a road game at Western Connecticut. In those pre-Internet days, I had to rely on the Philadelphia newspapers for scores of RPI football games, and I could not find a score of the RPI -Western Connecticut game. The following weekend, RPI played at Muhlenberg, close enough for me to travel to the game.
I got there early enough to find several RPI players outside the locker room, waiting for their teammates to finish dressing so that they could go onto the field for pregame practice. I went up to one of them and asked how they had made out the previous week against Western Connecticut.
It turned out that the Western Connecticut game had been rained out. The field had been rendered unplayable, due to a massive nor'easter that had struck New England that weekend.
51 years later, almost to the day, Western Connecticut's scheduled game against Kean this afternoon has been rained out, due to a massive nor'easter.
