RPI 2026-27: Houston Field House, We Have Lift-off!

Yes, that is a safe assumption. He was measured in his responses at the golf outing, but clearly he was irked by the timetable. A member of the women's team told me that the project was originally slated to be completed in time for their August return.
My guess is that Coach Lang`s mood went sour with the late bail outs and the field house situation isn't helping to improve it..

Seriously! I think like Sez said we will score more but it’s still a work in progress for coach lang. If we can win around 15/16 games with lots of grow for the future I’ll be happy. I really hope they have the hurricanes looking uniforms. Is it me or does it seem like they are taking forever to update the rosters for men’s/women's hockey? Like on the main page? Seems very late
Part of me thinks that they're waiting until they can do the on-ice photo at the Field House (which miiiight take a while based on what I'm reading)

That's why the failure to have the boards in place doesn't make sense. We've all seen project schedules slip, and renovating an old building like HFH provides all sorts of opportunities discover new problems as you go along, but one would have expected to see the boards piled up in the FH parking lot for a month or more. Any company that makes boards and glass must plan for a massive percentage of their business in the summer as the window between seasons is the time for renovations or bringing a new facility online. By mid-September I'd expect their manufacturing and distribution facilities to be as deserted as Paris in August.

Stopped by HFH this afternoon. No ice signs of boards, glass or ice.... ha ha. Nothing stockpiled in the parking lot that would indicate a shipment of boards and glass. I suppose the good news is the concrete will be well cured if and whenever they get around to making ice....ha ha
No idea why they did not wheel out their "overabundance of caution" bit (remember that) again for this possibility. Assuming that at least one of the first two weekends are part of a home and home arrangement, all they had to do was go to one or both of the first two opponents this season and have one or both come here next year. How hard would that have been???

Instead should the building not be ready on time, now they would have to process credit card credits or run a string of refund checks and mail them. That is unless they have the gall to expect you to travel to a different building and/or go to an undesirable at night neighborhood instead of the building and neighborhood you paid to attend.

These days I would settle for something a whole lot smaller that I have always liked doing after attending home football games. That is scanning through the RPI TV reply to get to the scoring plays which come with the calls of the plays by what have historically usually been very good broadcasters despite not making their living as broadcasters. In the past the replays have usually been up by about halftime of the 3:30 P.M. major college TV games. Last Saturday's is still not up five days out and it probably never will be.
