Would prefer they stay away from the crest (leave that boring stuff to the likes of Harvard) and also do not go back to the stripey barber-pole socks! I'm probably biased by my own nostalgia but my favorite design was the late-80's/early-90's Joe Juneau era sweaters.

Yeah the barber pole socks were awful. Early 90s and I like the uniforms from the Matt Murley years and the uniforms from the polacek years were nice.
Yeah they do. The girls sweaters are nice so I’m hoping they are similar.

Ya fair points. Serlin will be in there somewhere I’m sure but maybe because he was a late add they’ve been slower to integrate him into the lines at these early skates. I also wonder if Lang is making sure not to disrupt the room too much early on by elevating all the freshman at the expense of some older players that were here last season. Again I’m partially guessing at the forward lines and it’s all gonna change even if I’m somewhat close to what it could look like to start.
I guess theoretically, there will be a livestream of the game.
I was hoping there would be a pregame show, where Kurt or somebody would tell us a little bit about who's on the roster. I clicked on the link to the livestream 12 minutes ago. It is now 2 minutes to game time, and all that I've gotten is 12 minutes of continuous buffering, with a little note at the bottom that says September 5 at 12 PM..
Update. It is now 12:15. A little note has appeared above the one that says September 5 at 12 PM. This second note says "Live in 13 minutes," but it just continues to buffer.
According to LiveStats, RPI received the opening kickoff and moved 73 yards to score on a 40-yard pass from Micah Balzarini to Nate Ehui. I do not remember Balzarini's name from last year, so it seems RPI has a new quarterback.
I guess I can look forward to an exciting afternoon of following RPI football via LiveStats.

At halftime, RPI leads, 14-7. It should be 14-0, except for an extremely ill-considered roughing the punter penalty with 30 seconds left in the half, which gave WPI an opportunity they should not have had.
A source of repeated amusement is the fact that the person reporting the results of the plays on LiveStats seems to be firmly convinced that when there is a penalty, the referee marks off the yardage in favor of, rather than against, the team that committed the penalty.

I went back and loaded the YouTube livestream again and it worked for the second half. Don't know why it didn't work for the first.
RPI dominated the second half and retains the Transit Trophy after winning, 35-7. An unusual statistic - even though they lost by four touchdowns, WPI had possession of the ball for more than 43 minutes in the game. But it's points on the scoreboard that counts.
A question for those who live close enough to Troy to attend home games regularly - the website offered a link to buy tickets to the game and indicated that ticket prices range from $6 to $15. What's the difference in seating location between the cheap seats and the expensive ones?

I didn't try tp watch the game until there were only a few minutes left in the first half. So it might not have been working for me earlier either.
Jenny watched the entire game - I saw a good part but was busy installing a new telephone system here. We won by about the amount the point spread had predicted but I felt we did not look all that good. The run defense was exceptional but not sure WPI was a running offense of note. Will have to be top notch next week against a very strong Utica team which will truly be the test. Pass defense was porous and gave up a ton of yardage and completions of the mostly short gain variety. much like last year. Not sure we will tighten that up and we will be made to pay dearly against a good passing offense and especially if the opposing quarterbakc is mobile and has decent ability to run the ball himself. As far as our offense - never showed any sort of consistent running ability this game and the passing was fairly sharp with some very decent gains and runs after the catch. Kicking game was not on display but I doubt we have the second coming of Andrew Frank on this squad.
I do wonder about one series when we had a first and goal on the one yard line. Coach called a pass! Tipped and almost intercepted. Second down a simple inside running play and an easy score. Why would anyone call a p[ass on first down on the one yard line when you are leading by 3 TDs and running down the clock? Just curious.

The problem might have been the listing on YouTube. As of yesterday this stream was listed accurately. Today when I checked it was gone - totally and replaced by the next game with Utica on September 12th. I was not happy but persisted in looking around and still found nothing until I used a complete search query for "RPI football WPI 2026" Then it popped up as the first listing.
One last football note for today - this year we have a 10 game schedule roughly evenly split between easier and harder games to play. Today fell into the first category. But with Utica next, Brockport to follow (I believe they were held to 68 points today!), Ithaca on the menu and of course the always tough Hobart and Union, I would think this is going to be one test after another.

Would be an improvement. The home whites the last couple years were one of my least favorite designs (including some of the one-off sets for Blackout, etc.).
Here is the rundown:
1) $6 is general admission. For that you can sit first come first served in the visitor's section bleachers (behind the visitor's bench) for the lower view option. For the higher view option you can sit in the upper deck on the stadium side again on the first come first served basis. Finally, you can just stand on either of the stadium concourses located either between the upper deck and the lower deck or the one behind the south end zone. Total of $30 for all 6 home games this year.
2) $15 is reserved seating in a specific seat in the lower deck of the stadium. Total of $90 for all 6 home games this year.
3) The best value I don't believe ever even appeared on the web site this year and you have to be a regular to even know about it. That is $50 season ticket for a reserved seat in the lower deck for all six games this year. Strangely, the price is always $50 regardless of whether they have 6 home games like this year, 4 home games like last year or the usual 5.
#3 is the no brainer choice even for a reserved seat. You never have to stop at a ticket window and even if you miss a game or two you still come out ahead.
P.S. I have had two football season tickets for all but a couple of seasons since the stadium opened in the 2000's even though I usually go alone. That fact has shown me quite graphically just what the devastating long term effects of the two year fan ban have resulted in. Remember, in the fall we are dealing with a very successful winning program (almost 70% for approaching 4 decades now!!!). Put simply, before the two year ban I ALMOST NEVER came home with the second ticket unused. If all else failed leading up to the game, there would almost always be someone I knew in line at the ticket window and they would end up with a reserved seat!!! Post fan ban there is hardly ever much of a line and even if there is one I never seem to know anyone in it to give the second ticket to. In fact, I hardly know anyone in the whole place anymore and just like today the second ticket ALMOST ALWAYS never comes out of my wallet and returns home with me unused.
No nice way of putting it. In the year 5 AB (after ban) there are still long term local fans and customers that want absolutely nothing more to do with the place and are simply never going to go there anymore. Period!!!
