RPI 2024 Off-Season: Was 2023 – 2024 Just a Bad Dream?

I know the portal is relatively new, and that it can cut both ways. That said I’m curious to see which/how many RPI players enter the portal. If younger players with multiple years of eligibility left decide to enter, it can’t be blamed on Covid or the past President. The next week should be telling, positive or negative, on the direction of the team.

I think we all know what players are important to keep, and thus are the only ones that it matters if they come back. (Hotson, Muzzatti, Smolinski really). Next tier is Watson, Goffredo, Tinling. Smith said publicly that Gagnon and Lee want to return so I am assuming they will be back. I would actually argue for aggressive roster turnover, there are too many players on the fringes of the team that do not get it done

Ha ..yup! Like we're making this stuff up !! Ha ha..
Appreciate this and your realistic and reasonable posts that you proffer regarding the state of the program. Murls is a person that we should be listening to, Troy guy, one of the best the program has produced and clearly looking to make things better. .

If everybody takes a deep breath and thinks this thru I believe the only reasonable conclusion is it time for a change regardless of any bias it not personal it's just time. We have a window of opportunity that most likely won't last long to squander this situation like we did W/Barr which I think we all can agree was a mistake would be malpractice on the part of the administration. Maybe we can't pull it off but we need to tee it up and take a swing Kirk is everything this Program used to stand for and needs to get back to.

Murls is a good dude! Having him visit campus for BRF is great to see. He knows this crap that’s going on isn’t good. He’s trying

Take a swing at Kirk. Can’t get much worse than what we are witnessing now. I see Kirk has Dubuque in second place. Ha ha
Dave has us looking for 4-6 starting players in the transfer portal?? That’s without anyone leaving. Well oiled machine

Tough year for Capital Region sports. First, Antonio Brown bankrupts the Empire, two time defending NAL champions. Then, RPI, and Siena and UAlbany basketball stink it up. Union wad Union. The first crack started, Siena basketball fires Carmen Maccariello after 6 seasons and going 4-28 this year.

Don't forget the midnight announcement of St. Rose calling it a day and pulling the plug on the institution ! LOL

After RPI's record-breaking season, and all the support of fans, RPI men's hockey coach, Dave Smith, is robbed of being an ECAC Tim Taylor Coach of the year finalist.

As St. Rose is about to go belly up making one particular outstanding coach across MULTIPLE levels and genres available, all it takes to fix the Siena problem is a functional brain.

Of course, it would also require Siena to man up and just admit that this guy took Siena's big crosstown rival from absolutely nothing (starting at age 29) and let it to the point where Siena was turned in to a red headed stepchild. Siena would also have to let go of this guy insisting (or else) that the annual rivalry game between the two not ALWAYS be played in Siena's downtown arena even if it meant sometimes playing it in a glorified high school gym.

Its' do you want to fix the problem or don't you??? It's do you want to win or don't you??? It's do you want to "reverse polarity" and now make UAlbany the red headed stepchild or don't you???

All done in 15 seconds!!! All it would take is some Siena drone yutz to walk up to a podium and say (or read): Ladies and gentlemen of the media. The next coach of the Siena men's' program basketball program, Mr, Will Brown. Problem worked, problem solved!!!

P.S. In the interest of full disclosure(s), yes I am casually acquainted with the Brown family. Also, the then still competent, functional and relevant individual who chose Brown (at age 29) to lead UAlbany out of the abyss was, indeed, one Lee McElroy. Unfortunately, RPI picked up McElroy at the same point in his career that Gil Hodges, Duke Snyder and Warren Spahn were in theirs when the early day Mets picked them up. For those old enough, that was not a pretty sight either.
