I miss Tie Domi
I hope so - I am getting bored.
Me too. A group of us are continuing the NC trip tradition regardless. Hopefully we'll actually get to see RPI in person. I'm getting tired of watching Union ...ha ha

Since Yale and Brown are travel partners, it will allow Yale to play two games in Troy to make up for their lost game against us this weekend. However they are scheduled to play Union then one night so they would have to spend 3 days in the CD.

Some important covid info somewhere in there about this weekend. Can't remember timestamp
In other news, the team's first semester academic performance has been great: https://twitter.com/RPI_Hockey/status/1480740687285047303?s=20.
Certainly a contrast from hockey players' grades in the 1960's.
Just wondering if any of this could have been helped by the grade inflation seen at colleges over the past many years?

Of course, but grade inflation at RPI and has been less extreme than most colleges and universities. One of the main drivers is the level of support and structure that the athletes get. Study periods, study groups, tutoring (if required) and academic monitoring help to ensure that the athletes can meet their very extensive athletic and academic demands. With almost the entire men's hockey team in Lally, there is a strong intra- and inter-class support structure within the team and from the athletic and academic departments. There are a lot more support resources for students in general than back in the day (it's no longer treated as almost a matter of pride that "look to your left, look to your right - one of the three of you won't be at graduation") but for the athletes it's a bit more structured.
Students have a very high acquisition cost. Although it may not be apparent from some of this administration's moves, in general the goal within education is student retention. It's just smart business.
