RPI 2021-22: Picking Up Where We Left Off

Football halftime score RPI 14 Endicott 7. We have made several mistakes and taken a couple penalties but still leading. Endicott will receive to start the second half. We simply need to play error free ball this second half.

Football final RPI 20 Endicott 14. A game not really as close as the score indicated but we just seem to turn every game into a nail biter. We move on to next week on the road to play SUNY Cortland and that will present a much greater task with a highly ranked team. Congrats to or boys who are now 10-1 on the season and in the final 16 of the playoffs!!

Odds I can find indicate RPI is a 7 point favorite over Endicott in football tomorrow. We are also a 1.5 goal favorite at home against LIU in hockey. Good luck to our boys!

We didn’t cover in football, but we’ll definitely take the win! On to Cortland….

RPI was up 20-7 entering the 4th quarter. They did make mistakes today but held Endicott to 1 of 12 third down conversions. Outgained Endicott by a 2:1 margin in total offense.

Correct. It appears we have a team that thrives on making the games end up close. We had this one in our pocket but an interception, some poor pass defense on a play or two, taking a roughing the passer penalty on a play that we had forced an interception, etc. made this a closer game than it should have been. We have a very good team that plays well under pressure but next week is a different level of competition. We will have to do everything right against Cortland. But this team has shown it is capable of doing just that. See Ithaca and Union!! In any case, we have hit double figures in wins and you just do not see that often in the 100 year history of RPI football! Go RED!!!!!!!

Waiting for game #2 in the series with LIU. Nice to see the win last night and I expect a similar result tonight. But what is amazing is I was checking the NCAA stats and one Owen Savory is #1 in the nation in goaltending in both save % and gaa. Linden Marshall is # 46. Ah what could have been…..

Owen pitched a shutout in his last game and has UMass-Lowell playing well in front of him. And yes, what could have been.....

Anybody know what is going on with women's hoop??? Both games of a tournament in Maine cancelled. However, it appears the other three teams in the tourney all appeared and played at least one game!!! Oh brother, did administration get exactly what they hoped for and mass cancellations of everything and anything anywhere near campus begin at 9 A.M. tomorrow???

:-(

We are a big underdog against SUNY Cortland this Saturday in football. So far it looks like 14.5 points! As far as i can tell we have only played that school once before and handled them easily (2006) but this is a very different team with a huge offensive line and an offense that has almost not been stopped all season. Ithaca came back on them and lost 26-21 last week but no one else has really come very close.
We seem to be a 1/2 goal underdog to Northeastern for the Friday game in hockey.

I know nothing about why the women's basketball team's games last weekend were cancelled.

I do note that the RPIathletics website still indicates that Tuesday night's men's basketball game is scheduled to start at 7 PM in the ECAV Arena, and the hockey game against Northeastern is still scheduled for the Field House on Friday. The latest COVID update at RPI.edu is an update on spectator policies, dated November 8. Is there any evidence, other than the cancellation of a couple women's basketball games, pointing to mass cancellations of everything and anything?
