Apparently no one brought Ron Howard up to speed on this fact. His movie had Tom Hanks (Jim Lovell) doing that line instead of the Rensselaer guy who actually was the mission pilot. For those whose attention is drawl by movie flubs, factual errors are not all that uncommon in Ron Howard bio pictures.

He's not entirely wrong, as Jim did repeat it when asked to do so by the CapCom operator, albeit as "Houston, we've had a problem" instead of "Houston, we have a problem." However, given the movie has CapCom asking for a repeat, it could be implied that Swigert did indeed say it, and if you listen to the flight director's loop, the first transmission does come a bit garbled because the high gain antenna was likely damaged as part of the explosion when the panel came off.

RPI's Hartford campus... I remember that!

Wouldn't you know that Clarkson University has had a Schenectady campus for a few years now? And it's about 400 feet from the main entrance of Union College.

Yes it's s a grad school .... They took it over from Union after several years of wheel spinning. The CCT prez is a frequent visitor and well known and thought of by local leaders....feel free to draw your own conclusions. 😜

For those watching the OOC schedule, UML announced their NC slate and a trip to RPI is not included. Dunno, perhaps folks might have already heard this ?

I've never liked the FSU logo, so I'll go with BU, but I'm pretty sure either one will lose the next round. I like all three Huskies logos over the BU logo and think UConn will win the dogs bracket. Of the 8 matchups I saw I voted for the current logo leader for all but LSSU vs UMass (I have no idea why UMass is winning). Of course, a big problem with these types of polls is in how the matchups are selected and the brackets aligned. BU is doing a similar bracket/poll of the BU Teams of the Decade, which I find even more problematical.

Does anyone know if Coach Smith is going to do a zoom call in lieu of the end of season banquet? Many other schools have done it, but afaik we have not heard anything about RPI doing this.

I saw it on lowell thread. I have a feeling the ooc scheduling is not going well.I don`t see us on any of the well known clubs ooc schedules.

It`s strange.Usually by this time ooc opponents are pretty much all leaked. With lowell apparently dumping us the only two I have seen are army and Union in mayors cup.On apersonal note I hope we play RIT so I can see my two favorite squads play.
