How come no grad transfers ever come TO RPI?
No one has to answer that. We all know the reason. :(

Time to bad mouth Gunnarwolfe Fontaine. :D

13 is a good little shooter but the kid seems to play a O-zone game only. Never see him setting up plays or passing with accuracy. His line mates do the work in the 2 other zones .

To be honest, he did get a lot of assists early in the season before he finally found the net, and we can use anyone who can consistently score even if they have other deficiencies.

With Hayhurst and Emil Ohrvall, Michigan will have two-thirds of what could have been our top line next year. :(

I’m not sure about that. A few years ago we were so short of right handed shots that we were playing lefties on their off-wing. Now 8 out of the 12 returning forwards are righties. Only Leppanen, Linden, Marrello and Lee shoot left-handed. I believe Herrman, Dubinsky, Mahshie and Beaton of the potential enrollment candidates are left shots (Ashbrook and McIsaac are RH). Particularly if Leppanen goes to center, there may be openings on the left side for freshmen.

Linden is a right shot. I have no idea why they list him as a left-shot on RPI athletics but he's a righty. We only have 3 returning left shots (which is probably why we'll see lots of lefties for the incoming class). I also agree with you about the left side having openings for freshmen

Thanks. I originally had him listed as a right shot because that’s how I have him pictured in my mind. Then I made the mistake of double-checking against the on-line roster before hitting send. It must have been wrong all season. Then again, we’re probably the only ones that care.

Of course, the team not winning doesn't help, but there may be structural reasons that contribute to it. The grad transfer rule used to require that the school you were going to transfer to have a graduate program not offered at your original institution. I don't know if that is still the case or can be waived, but RPI's available graduate degree programs compared to other schools might be a structural reason for the net grad transfer deficit: most schools offer their own graduate business and science programs, and a smaller percentage of hockey players tend to pursue engineering degrees. RPI may also have tougher standards to be a grad student in some of its programs and may be less willing to compromise than for undergrad. If the program requirement is easily waived, the reasons around program success seem more likely.

Thanks in advance on that although he may not know.

Norris almost definitely knows, but he may not be in a position to share. Even if he's willing to tell sezenack, there will likely be an understanding that he won't disseminate it publicly.

Who do we think the captains are going to be? I think Reilly is an obvious choice given he was one last season. Maybe Burgess and Polino? Gornall and Zieky seem to have good leadership qualities too.

Will Reilly has always struck me as a bit of a hothead on the ice, which isn't a great quality when you have to make your case to the refs. That said, he's probably our best returning player and he wore the A, so it's probably him. I don't have any idea what these guys are like in the room, but choosing one of the mid-season additions seems weird since they haven't really put in the time.

I agree that choosing one of the transfers would be odd.
