Take it from someone who was driven in to the chicken wire stuff more than once. The chicken wire was definitely there through my senior year of playing high school hockey. That would have made my last home game at the Fieldhouse in the last week or two of February, 1971.

It was black and was no bargain to be hit against it while moving. However, the more solid poles that held it in place were even worse. They stung like hell.

A season or two after that it must have all got sent to a chicken farm somewhere and was replaced by whatever version of glass was in vogue in the early 1970's.

No mention of the sophomore class so I guess we can read the tea leaves on them.

I read it just as there was not anything worth mentioning. Assuming that Jerry really had mono, he should be back at a minimum.

We don't usually hear anything official at this time. We do get info from people with personal knowledge sometimes.

Despite being an NHL draft choice, Kjellberg is not the best of the supposedly incoming defensemen. I think that he is closer to the worst.

What about Shane (Ralph) Bear? Isn’t he better than either Samec or Kjellberg?

He does not get that much ice time when he plays and has often been a healthy scratch. I have read opinions that he was drafted by the Rangers in large part because his father works for them. I certainly hope that I am wrong.
