The difference one player can make.

I'd consider donating if there was a clear commitment to success. Keeping Vines shows none of that. I also highly doubt this Lake Placid retreat will actually help. Every team claims every road trip is a "bonding" experience that will help them win more, but this won't change neither the (lack of) talent in our players nor the head coach of the program.

Winning is a habit! Unfortunately, so is losing.
If you can accept losing, you’ll never win.
RPI has accepted losing by keeping Vines around for another year.
30 more loses coming in 2020-21.
A retreat only shows Vines lack of commitment and his inabilities as a coach. This team doesn’t need a retreat, it needs a spring and summer camp of fitness and skill development.
Coaching staff should go on retreat and stay there.

The team is undersized .. of course RIT is too. Be interesting to have seen how the RIT coach would be doing there. Or is the extra four hours to Troy to much for the southern Ontario gals to overcome the full schollies RPI has.

Neutral Zone rates both recruits as 3.75. I won't post their info on the recruit thread until next week as there is missing info which I may find. To date:

8 Mika Jahnke F 03/09/20 Dallas Stars Elite 19U 2021 07/16/03 5'02" 130 TX 3.75
X Riena Jahnke F 03/09/20 Seibu Princess Rabbits 2020 08/05/01 5'03" 118 TX 3.75

An article about the Jahnkes https://www.dallasnews.com/high-sch...hey-hope-it-s-a-sign-of-more-success-to-come/.

A YouTube interview with Mika Jahnke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmGvbTyIEag She mentions Yale near the end.
A game she played in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw_VEwtEV84.

Edit: Actually both were originally Yale recruits and are still listed as such at the moment https://collegecommitments.com/DepthChart.aspx?i7cq9=1258929358. I wonder why they switched. They definitely did since there are likes by our coaches on both of the tweets which I posted.
Edit2: They are now listed for RPI https://collegecommitments.com/DepthChart.aspx?i7cq9=1258931204

Personal Statement

I have been playing hockey since I was 5. I have advanced quickly through levels and age groups as goalie. When I was U12 age group I played up as a U14 when I was 11, I played U19 as a U14. I played goalie with Bantam boys and a Girls U14 AA Aspen team as an 8th grader in 16/17 and made it to the USA Hockey Nationals in MI. I push myself every practice while learning as much as possible and play my games 110%. I am a very committed goalie and get as much ice time as I can each week. I really push myself to be the best I can be and will continue on Tier 1 girls teams, U14 NAHA AAA Prospect Team, past season 18/19 NAHA Girls U16 AAA, 19/20 season will be NAHA White U-19. I would like to make it on to the U18 National Team. My biggest goal is to move into D1 level women's hockey as a goalie. I am really interested in engineering / sciences / business / real estate development and would like to major and work in these fields after school. I would love to see myself being a goalie coach after my college years and give back to new players. My GPA is a 4.0 and I always try my best whether it is in school or out on the ice.

I compete in the Summer months with Mtn. bike races and love to camp with my family and friends. I love animals and especially dogs. I really enjoy taking my dog on lots of hikes. My Grandfather is Canadian and is a big inspiration with playing goalie. He played for the Charlotte Checkers, Long Island Ducks, Syracuse Blazers, and the New Haven Blades all of which were in the Eastern Hockey League

Any suggestions for a title for the 2020-2021 thread? Be nice.;)

Re: RPI 2019-2020: Life after Lovisa

RPI 2020-21: Life (?) after Lovisa Year 2
If you want more variety, you could change it as shown.

To reflect the mood of most of the fans, you could use ...
RPI 2020-21: New players, same coach
