RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Doesn't it keep you up at night that we haven't won a national championship since Union started playing Division I hockey? Surely there's a cause and effect there somewhere!

It just keeps getting better, doesn't it?

sure does

Today is February 19, 2014. There's only one player ahead of Brock Higgs. Did you vote today?

Happy, Red Cloud?

This is thankfully one per day, not one per 24 hours. Also I was able to vote again just by using a different browser.

Yes. You and your ilk just keep getting more and more unintentionally hilarious.

Don't ever stop. By the way, your co-workers gave me a large fry yesterday when all I asked for was a medium, so thanks for that too!

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Union fans, ever full of class, are now bringing up (out of the blue) our CLASS award candidate and calling him a thug/goon/etc... so much for our fan base being obsessed with their team.

Hokydad trained his spawn well. ;)

Scott Czarnowczan went from having 40% of the vote yesterday when I looked to 23% today, so I think we're making an impact!

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

And now we have one poster posting the same thing over and over and over again... by his ridiculous standards, Dennis Robertson shouldn't be running for the CLASS award either, with 26 PEN for 74 PIM. Where do these people come from?

I suppose it's true that if you repeat a lie or half truth enough times, people believe it. This is getting beyond hysterical now.

1. Anybody or anything that badmouths Union is automatically a Thug, Goon, etc....

2. I haven't checked, but I'm sure Brock is ahead of Ikkala in the voting.

3. He's a Union "fan."

4. I think we finally have a poster that is worse than FD here.

5. He's a Union "fan."

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Pretty amazing how easy it is to feel superior to a team in first place. Their fans make so very simple.

And notice how none of them disown the morons, like we do with FD?

Moar Union math:

Higgs: 18 PEN/55 PIM (quoted as 57 PIM from one of the fans)

Bodie: 15 PEN/49 PIM

Higgs = thug/goon, Bodie = great captain.

I know there are good Union fans and bad Union fans, but the loud ones sure do spoil it for the rest of them.

Moar Union logic:

Higgs: 18 PEN/55 PIM

Bodie: 15 PEN/49 PIM

Higgs = thug/goon, Bodie = great captain.

Part of that logic - Bodie's cross check to Higgs' head was OK for a plethora of reasons.
1) He was skating in his direction. Surprised there were no other cheapshots during the game, then, since people are often skating in others' direction.
2) Self-defense. I know I'm always concerned about getting hit or hurt by someone who isn't looking towards me.
3) Because of a cheapshot applied by a different player in a game from more than two months prior in which both teams started delivering cheapshots, and after 60 minutes of other opportunities to retaliate. No further commentary necessary.

About 10 years ago UNH was referred to as the Skating Mother Teresas because their fans thought their players could do no wrong and never took deserved penalties. I wonder if the appellation may fit better here now, especially considering the impressively vociferous defense of White Mike Tyson. It's always someone else's fault, isn't it? And all the other players on all the other teams, especially the 7th place team they're positively obsessed with, are goons.

I voted for Brock Higgs and DU's Sam Brittain.
May I suggest: to prevent a St.Larrys, CCT, or, heaven forbid, union player from winning the award you cast one of your 3 votes for Sam "The Great" Brittain. Not only has he had a great year, but he represents 50% of the Pios' senior class.

I enjoy how you highlight just how awful Union is by putting them in that font.

We found our fanbase's FlagDude. I can't believe I'm finally using the ignore function on here after almost 12 years.

It's a shame that it only has to be one letter away from your screen name.

I remember the abbreviation SMT appearing all over the Hockey East threads/flamefests. SMT! :D Brings a smile to my face! (Doesn't the little green dude have a sharp grill?) Thanks, RC!

Looking forward to this weekend's action... I'm going to the SLU game on Friday but I have to be on the road Saturday night so I'll follow on wrpi. I'm enjoying the momentum of recent weekends. Keep it going!
