Re: RPI 2013/14 Part II: The HFH is Covered with Frozen Drivel

I think what you are missing, or just refuse to acknowledge, is that DU outshot us 71 to 42 this past weekend. If Diebold had not been by far the best player on the ice we wouldn't have gotten the one point. That aside, even if we do buy into your observation that the games were a 'standstill', Kratch has Denver (#33) even worse than RPI (#28). So even though they may have all those draft picks, they are not the perennial powerhouse this year. Those are the figures - no lies.

And now you show that you really don't understand the point of KRACH.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part II: The HFH is Covered with Frozen Drivel

if team A has only losses or ties against team B in a season, we can declare that team A is incapable of beating team B?

Reading the sentence with specific regards to your usage of the present tense, the answer is yes. Had you said "will be incapable", the answer is indeterminate, because past performance does not guarantee future results. We do not know what the capability will be.

BREAKING NEWS: The ECAC Hockey League has handed AspyDad a lollypop for his actions on Friday night by asking commissioner Hagwell about the state of officiating in the league.

That's because he doesn't have the male fortitude to confront the man in charge of officiating!!;)

How can we know it about today in the present tense, but not know it about tomorrow in the future tense? Basically, saying a team is incapable of beating (or has the inability to beat) another team is overstating things.

Then why does the PWR include head-to-head as criteria, with now beating a team three more times than the inverse a way to completely turn the comparison into the winning team's favour?

If you're seriously asking this question, it appears you don't understand the PWR.

Incorrect. It was to show supe why head to head matches are used as a predictor in the PWR. **** off. Or do I need to put it in Mongolian for you to understand?
