If you're going to finally have legitimate discussion about the issues RPI is having instead of spinning everything like it was North Korean propaganda, then I consider my mission to be accomplished. It's too bad I had to resort to a Fire Appert thread for people to actually discuss the issues that have plagued this team since Appert started bringing in his own recruits.

Unfortunately, that's a conversation you've already shut yourself out of, since you've shown time and time again that you have no idea what the hell you're talking about. Starting a Fire Appert thread isn't a way to get actual discussion started, it's a way to get people who do have actual concerns about the team spending time defending against overwhelmingly incorrect nonsense instead of having rational discussions.

There won't be any rational discussions going on until you either shut your mouth and allow it to happen, or just plain leave. You've already poisoned the well of discussion far too much.

Why are there several programs out there that would love to give you just what you want and take Appert off our hands and make him THEIR coach if what he's done in the last seven years is subpar? Answer me that one, hockey genius.

But you can't. People don't seem to grasp that. I hate the term "take away those and you'll see a different team. They are there, they must be included.

Hey, If I can take away the first six games of the season, the Giants would be in the playoffs.

Hey, the NY Giants suck too but maybe you couldn't tell by the fact that they have no offensive nor defensive lines. First of all you are mixing up game results with the margin of victory. I am not discounting the records of those games referenced just the lop-sidedness. Most rating systems will truncate blow-outs. Good, go ahead and take all the stats at face value if that is your wish . The only one that really counts is PWRs at the end of the season. It is too early to use that measure but if anyone is willing to take the bet, I'll put my money on us not qualifying as a wildcard. It is all in the eye of the beholder. You see a team that has potential, I see a team that is disorganized, hesitant with the puck (when they do get it) and disinterested in mixing it up.

He has overstayed his welcome by my standards. As I see it this is a faith vs. facts discussion. There are those who kneel at the altar of Appert and those that look at the results. His record is not good but you can't convince those who have pre-conceived notions.

He has overstayed his welcome by my standards. As I see it this is a faith vs. facts discussion. There are those who kneel at the altar of Appert and those that look at the results. His record is not good but you can't convince those who have pre-conceived notions.

Five was too many and seven is not enough. I was critical of Appert early and often. I still am but he has some young players and some in the pipeline. I'd hate to have to start over.

That's what Seth said, but I know someone close to the program and they told me it was the years more than the loyalty to his x. I am sure Gwoz would have encouraged him to take it.
But yeah it could be part of his decision.

If Seth wanted to make public the reason or reasons he stayed, that would be up to him. Aspy for sure, probably Red Cloud know why he stayed. I don't think its right for any of us to post personal info of coaches or players on here, so I won't but I have no problem posting when info on here is incorrect. Feels weird but not driving out tonight so giving RPI TV a look.

I don't believe everything I read (certainly not what I read here). I do agree that it is not any of my business why he did not take the job, but I thought that was what was posted earlier. In any case I am happy with the result. He does have the best record of any RPI hockey coach, percentagewise, against Denver.
