Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

That's a fail on your part, Dude, and exactly why I'm the proclaimed by acclamation arbiter of the facepalm. AspyDad was laugh out loud funny on that one.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

I'm REALLY REALLY sorry to take what you normally do, Red Cloud....

Dude, I did not mean to offend. I promise I will not mention that "matter" again ... well.... I will probably mention it when we play Cornell but that's it :D . I kid because I care. Have a nice Labor Day. AD

With the start of practices, Dubuque's season is underway. The radio home of the Saints will conduct weekly shows with Monty starting this Wednesday night at 6PM CST, as well as an "Inside the Saints" show Mondays at 6:30PM --will include game highlights along with player and coach interviews. www.superhits106.com.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Bad start for Dubuque's new rink. On Saturday, a bearing failed on one of their brand new compressors, causing it to shutdown. To make matters worse, the phone and data lines in the barn were not yet active, so the automated alarm dead ended. They got the compressor fixed yesterday, but it will take a few days to get the ice back into shape.

Saints exhibition opener is pushed back a week to 9/18.

I am assuming that the 9/16 game at Cedar Rapids is still on.

Good point RB, I should have written "home" opener...

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Looks like Nick Quinn is going Major Junior...I personally wish he was coming to RPI :( but I wish him and his family all the best...

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Can someone post the cliff-notes timeline of what happened?
He committed to RPI in 2009, was offered and accepted a tender to Dubuque of the USHL in Spring 2010 (with Monty); was cut as an extra foreign player because the rule was for 2 but thru misunderstanding DBQ ended up with 3; was picked up by DesMoines for 2010-11, then decided to go to Oshawa...

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Jesus is a goalie, though, so skating isn't really a ginormous deal. He saves like no one I've ever seen before. :p
Very nice. Living in Boston I should have remembered as much. Couldn't touch Espo on those rebounds they say.

Without dates, here is the sequence of events
Nick Quinn committed to RPI for 2010.
Nick Quinn left Orangeville Crushers (CCHL) after father left as coach.
Nick Quinn picked up by Aurora Tigers (OPJHL).
Nick Quinn didn't play last part of 2009-10 season for whatever reason (sick, benched, injured).
Nick Quinn deferred admission to 2011.
Nick Quinn given a tender to Dubuque (USHL) for 2010-11.
Nick Quinn named best d-man in Chowder Cup.
Nick Quinn released by Dubuque.
Nick Quinn signed by Des Moines (USHL).
Nick Quinn signed by (Sudbury?) OHL.

Edit: Oops. I bought the extended version of Cliffs Notes. ;)

Your version was better than mine...:p...but that's to be expected

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread

Do we think his hiatus at the end of last season has anything to do with him not coming?

It did to the extent that it was probably part of the reason that his arrival in Troy was delayed a year. That gave other things the chance to happen.

Thanks! I was particularly curious about what happened with de-committing from RPI. Any idea about that?

It could be as simple as Sudbury doing what a whole slew of OHL teams have been doing - trying their best to poach NCAA recruits.
