RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

I see E. Cavosie has really turned things around at Albany Academy this year currently with a 15-4-1 record. They have a handful of players with some pretty decent numbers including son of the Col., Mark Knowlton. Gotta wonder if theres any interest in those players from RPI. Did anybody that was at the Berkshire/AA game a while back take notice in any of the AA players?

There was also a nice article about EC and the Academy in the TU a few weeks ago.

Coach has definitely been looking "locally" (i.e. in this state) as of late, so I would not be too surprised at all. Zalewski from Utica, D'Amigo from Binghamton, another recruit from Massena, Nick Bailen from Fredonia. Sounds like Albany Academy (I assume high school level) is looking locally, so this sounds like a gold mine for Coach, especially if they can get some really high quality talent that knows the RPI tradition.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

as for Alb. Academy; they are a very exciting team to watch...very aggressive. There have been a # of scouts at their games, mostly D-3, although Leaman is at many of their games. I've seen about 5 of their games...players who've impressed; #14 David Limoges (Sr.), #20 Tyler Hynes (Jr. from Guilderland), #12 Matt Orenstein (Sr.), #19 Mark Knowlton could be a player to watch (Jr.), fast, elusive, very good skater, good vision of the ice....5'8'" 155lbs. good bloodline? Their next home game is 1/29/11 vs Willis North Hampton at 2pm....forgot to include #5 Albee Daley (Sr. Averill Pk. one of 2 Capt.'s) tough kid

Speaking of which... what are those numbers on the right of the men's column?
The most recent post where he wrote a game summary. Since the search function doesn't work like he wants it to, it helps his failing memory. :p

It simplifies things to go to the previous game that a recruit played and just modify what was written. Sometimes the most recent game is now several pages back, and this makes it easier to find. As b12 wrote, search in a thread now apparently ranks posts by some obscure definition of relevance as opposed to supplying them in chronological order, so that isn't particularly useful.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

http://recordhockey.blogspot.com/2011/01/kasdorf-commits.html

Things had been getting a little dicey for RPI coach Seth Appert in his plans to secure a goaltender to take over when Allen York leaves. Turns out, he's gotten the guy he's been seeking for some time -- Winnipeg's Jason Kasdorf, The Record has learned.
The 18-year old (he'll be 19 in mid-May) will enter RPI for the 2012-13 season.
Like York, he's tall and lanky -- 6-3 1/2, 178 pounds and is talented.
He was recently a rating (C--but bound to improve) by the National Hockey League's Central Scouting.
More later, and don't forget we'll have an RPI fans chat herein tonight at 6.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. III

I might as well post the boxscore from the MJHL All-Star game which was played on Wednesday http://mjhl.esportsdesk.com/leagues...fm?clientID=4926&leagueID=17735&gameID=919111. It looks like it was a typical All-Star game with the Addison Division All Stars defeating the Sher-Wood Division All Stars 16-11. (The shots were 63-65.) Kasdorf saved 20 of 26 shots in about a half game.

Edit: I think that will work now.

I really hope Ed is right {presuming perhaps} that Allen is planning on sticking around for his SR year. I really wonder how happy Pirri & D`amigo are with the choice they made to bolt. I still think they both made poor choices with Pirri`s being the worse of the two.Perhaps they told allen that minor league hockey isin`t what they may have thought it would be. I would think it would get old fast and if you aren`t in the NHL within your first couple of years you are pretty much stuck in the minors until injury forces you out of hockey.
