Rise on ........ Maybe they can RISE from 1-3

Maybe they can.

Seriously, go away. Whether you're baiting us or not, I can't stand it, you give me more posts to have to dig through.
Stop being passionate about things you don't like. I could talk junk about Union all night, but I choose not to because I care about RPI's play, not Union's.

Losing 4-0 and outshot 30-17 is not solid, avg at best

Seems to me like the Engineers figured something out the next night:

10/15/11:
TEAM STATISTICS Rensselaer Ferris St.
Power Plays 0 for 4 0 for 4
Shorthanded Goals 0 0
Penalties (min) 7 (25) 8 (27)
Shots on Goal 26 30
Face Offs Won 33 35

it's still early lots of time to improve. Don't get down on yourselves just regroup and believe in your team. Freshmen forwardssneed some time to famaliarize themselves to this level of hockey. Things will be cool after all the game is played on ice.

I agree with you. They figured out there top 6 D, played them and had a better showing

I am already getting concerned that after 4 games against so-so teams we have been shut out 3 times, coach said we will go as our juniors and seniors go and that is what my concern is, after 4 games our 6 juniors/seniors have 1 goal and 1 assist. I almost feel we should have more just by someone being in the right place at the right time. Anyone else have this concern?

Yes. That seems to be everyone's concern.

No need to panic....its very early and we have a young team...Im confident it will come around...tough weekend coming up...we just need to play hard and stick w/the process and learn...we knew or at least I knew w/Chase gone we would have some trouble scoring that will all come around Im sure...we have some high end offensive talant that came in this year and there is an adjustment period especially those that came from the OPJHL they have the biggest adjustment...so be patient it will all come together....I like this team alot irregardless of the early results...keep the faith ! ! !

Well said my wise older brother. We knew we would have some growing pains taking Chase out of the mix. This group will be good because they have won at their respective levels. This was their first college road trip... be patient and yes, keep the faith.

I was wrong. I had guessed that you were the older one. :)

I also think that we missed 23 and 27 a lot.

According to the Troy Record, Coach Appert was unavailable for comment after the game which is unusual. He must have been real hot!!

i could not blame him one bit. I merely listened to the games and needed a little something to calm down after.;)

Coach only grants Record interviews to Ed Weaver.....and since he didn't make the trip, Coach wasn't talking!!;)

I totally agree with the above statement. My concern is, where is the frustration level.
Many of these freshmen are used to going out and putting the puck in the net. I would guess that three games is the longest scoreless streak that they have had to endure. Will they be patient enough to ride this out.
I believe that once one of them scores, the rest will relax and follow. I also believe that the team is waiting for JL to bury one.
Lets hope it comes soon.

Agree completely. This team has a lot of offensive potential and eventually this will start to mesh. It is just taking more time than I expected for it to happen. With our improved defense it is only a matter of time. The 3 shutouts are a bit surprising-but the defense has been very good only allowing 6 goals in 3 games if you discount the 2 empty netters. I'll take that goals against average all season long.

All the talk of patience is prudent at this point. Empt-net goals count and they are indicative of a bad trend; you are trailing late all the time. Two empty-netters in three games is a bad sign.

You don't like to see a team slump any time, but would rather have it happen now than in March. Let's see what happens when they get back to Troy.
We knew all along that the defens and goaltending was going to have to keep the team in gqames early.
