Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

Point of information: when was the last time we knew of a targeted recruit before he'd made up his mind (that was largely discussed here... sorry Ralph, your contacts don't count) that we landed? Off the top of my head, I remember Ryan Grimshaw, Jarred Tinordi, and Terrence Wallin that were heavily discussed prior to their decisions, and we didn't land any of them. IIRC, even Pirri and D'Amigo were pretty much dropped like a bomb around here.

Just hoping we can break the string with Curadi.
I believe Fridge's unsuccessful pursuit of Colin Greening was pretty well known.

Ah yes, I remember that one. Also remembering that Travis Zajac was apparently on our radar at one time or another, as was Charlie Giffin (the first and last time those names have ever been used in the same sentence).

Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

On Sunday, the Burlington Cougars defeated the Orangeville Crushers 6-5. Patrick Koudys had two assists. Nick Quinn had no points or penalties. http://cchl.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1090040

Koudys's line is now 33-4-21-25-24.

Quinn's Orangeville line is 16-2-2-4-12.
His total line is now 26-4-9-13-18.

Teddy Purcell?? I seem to recall his name being thrown around a little bit.

Brock Higgs (19) has two goals at about 24 seconds and about 1:30, after which he watches a fight. :) Also he gets an assist at about 1:22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgVJcCaIZ0Q

He has a goal at about 54 seconds on a breakaway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sy6H_CWKOao

Higgs has the secondary assist on the first goal at the start of the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFQ3NAto8PM

On Sunday, the Cornwall Colts defeated the Gloucester Rangers 4-3. Jacob Laliberté scored a goal. http://pointstreak.com/prostats/boxscore.html?gameid=1048156

Laliberté's line is now 29-35-30-65-16.

He continues to score but for him this might be considered an off night. I would be interested in his +/- number. I did not see it anywhere on the team website.

The CJHL doesn't maintain that stat. Pointstreak, the software that they use, can keep track of it, since it is recorded for other leagues, e.g., the USHL.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

JL will be playing in the Battle of Ontario All-Star game for the CJHL on January 2. No surprise there. RPI target Eric Ming will be in the Young Stars game earlier that day. http://www.standard-freeholder.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2220070

Now to to try to find the CCHL roster, to see if Nick Quinn (All-Star) and Patrick Koudys (Young Star) will play.

Edit: If anyone finds anything about whether Quinn and/or Koudys are playing, please post it.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

Picked this up from USHR last month:
Brett ‘Hurricane’ Harris, a 5’9”, 175 lb. ’93 left-shot forward who is tough, hits hard, and is said to have a cannon of a shot. Described as a ‘well-mannered Sean Avery type,’ and the type of player every team needs. Has Ivy League marks, and is interested in engineering. In 10 games, Harris has a 3-3-6 line.
He plays for the Halton Hurricanes Midget AAA Team in Ontario. Sounds like a stud, Id say go get him Seth! :D

A small stud. :) I would think that any hockey player interested in engineering would contact RPI.

Was he playing a tourney that USHR reviewed? Just curious as to why he was mentioned there.

Halton was playing in a tournament against a couple other prep league teams in Connecticut for a couple days. They listed 4-5 other players from the team with potential as well. I only mentioned Harris because of the interest in engineering.
