Wow. East must've played like they took the red eye into Manitoba!

It definitely sounded like it. Hopefully, they will play better tomorrow. BTW, Union recruit Daniel Carr scored a goal. Tomorrow's game is at 7:30 CST, but I guess that its start conflicts with a game in Troy. :)

Re: RPI 2010 Recruit Thread: Give Me Laliberté or Give Me Death!

No need to apologize Senna ! Sorry if I was over the top in my reply. I've just grown weary of the JL rumor mill.

I guess for me it boils down to trusting Appert and Montgomery in how they communicate with their recruits. They've been through the same and more with Pirri and D'Amigo. I know they talk often with all of the recruits and they certainly have a good feel for JL and his intentions for 2010. Time will tell I guess..its the waiting that stinks!

Wicked - couldnt agree with you more. I do trust Appert and regardless of what happens with JL I am confident that he is going to find exciting players and the right kids for this program. Let me also say this...I have coached youth hockey for 17 years and been around this sport long enough to see the very best and very worst, and I would trust my son with Seth and think that he would be a better person for having been closely associated with him. So, regardless of the rumor mill, if / when JL arrives, it will be because of Seth and Monty...and I'm sure that a talent like his as seen everyone come out of the woodwork after him and will recognize these gentlemen to be different. I get the impression he will find a family here with the coaching staff and the players (one of the reasons I comment on how the team interacts during warmups)...and thats why we will see him next year.

I wonder if what looks like the departure of Morissette had anything to do with getting Higgs?

It could be related because it probably freed up money. Although Morissette left the team after we got Higgs, he might have informed SA earlier. Also it is possible that Morissette is being redshirted.

Not certain, but wouldn't he still show up on the roster if he is being redshirted? I only ask because Bergin is still listed on the 08-09 roster, even though he took a medical redshirt (though perhaps that's a different situation since he saw at least some ice time last season, and Morissette has yet to play in a game this season).

That wouldn't warrant being removed from the roster, as redshirts can still participate in team activities, aside from games. Greg Burgdoerfer is sitting out a year but is listed on the roster. Sounds like Mo is gone.

I agreed when JCrawford made that point.

We'll probably see a very quiet release of the news over break...just a guess.

I think that it will just be mentioned by Weaver and/or Schott.

Thats what I meant.:p

We probably now have enough scholarship money for next year's class. BTW, did anyone see any potential recruits yesterday at the HFH?

There was a redheaded kid in a suit - with what looked like his mom - talking to Kevin Broad in front of section 15 before the game, but I didn't see any identifying marks to tell where he was from. Real tall kid, I'd say definitely over 6' if Broad was listed at 6' on the roster.

I wonder if the fact that Morissette, a French-speaking player, has left will affect JL's situation.

Well, we do always need size. :)

Tough to speculate without knowing why he left. AAG remains as our lone frenchie. :p
