Someone went back and fixed the roster pictures so you can actually see their faces now! Vast improvement over the first versions they uploaded.

Hey did Coach get a buzz cut. He must be serious about his year. BTW - I am predicting that Coach will have his best year behind the bench. Maybe even Coach of the Year honors. Wait ... Fat Mike will lobby against him because SA doesn't play bull**** trap.

Doesn't matter-and yes Becker was one of the schools they played-even if you are playing Russell Sage-it still isn't easy to put up 78 points on anyone these days. Utica is not the doormat they once were and they will give us the first real test. BTW we were outgained overall last week by Endicott. :) (and I don't recall us ever scoring 78 in all the years I have followed RPI football)

Dr. D, it appears that the highest score an RPI football team ever rang up in a game was a 77-0 victory against St. Stephen's in 1909.

Didn't realize you went back quite that far, but your memory is accurate, as always. :D

Interestingly, that 1909 team did not score as many as 10 points in any other game that year.

I actually remember the dates pretty far back better than the past few years-typical of the aging process. I try to forget about the football scores in the early to mid 60's-we were just plain horrible. And of course I like to forget about the 65-66 hockey season. I go back only as far as 1963 though. Thanks for finding the score of 1909-I did not know we had such an offense back then-I had thought most scores were like 7-6 in the old days.:)

You need to get over it, Ralph.

Your upcoming visitor, the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds, defeated the University of Calgary Dinos 6-1 last night to complete the sweep of their first exhibition tour of the province of Alberta. Friday night, in their big game against the University of Alberta in Edmonton (think of this as the CIS version of the Lakers vs. the Celtics as the two teams have combined for five of the last six national championships - the University Cup) the V-Reds won 6-2 against a Golden Bears team with 11 recruits this season. The tour started Wednesday night in a penalty filled match where UNB cruised to a 10-2 win in their first game against Calgary.

The two games against the physical Dinos were costly for the V-Reds, who lost defenceman Ben Wright with a potential knee injury and Ben Shutron left the ice on a stretcher last night. Shutron was named to the CIS All-Rookie team last season.

Btw, the webcast of the UNB-Alberta game is archived on the SSN website: http://www.ssncanada.ca/game/1475/

The first five or 6 minutes of the second period is when UNB did most of their damage.

Initially, I thought the countdown was a bit corny...now I'm watching with bated breath for single digits...and in honor of corn I decided to make fresh homemade corn chowder for the Hubster's dinner tonight...:)

It is indeed corny, but it had the desired effect years ago of keeping this thread on the front page. Now, I do it as a tradition -- like the RPI hockey line which also doesn't have its original raison d'être anymore.

..many times the tradition remains without the understanding of it's original intent...but it must continue!

No, you do it because you are compulsive, And it is a great thing for those of us who are rather loosely structured that you are. I look forward to it.:D
