I'm not saying the Beef is 6'6", unless Koudys IS 6'4"...the Beef is at least 2 inches taller than PK. Maybe PK is 6'2". They both appear to be equal in skating ability at this point. I watched last week as JFK was working w/Beef on his footwork in the corners while digging out pucks, so, there is a learning process taking place. Of note, Interesting watching the D-pairings in last nights scrimmage; JFK/Koudys.....Bergin/Foss(who appears beefier)...Bailen/Dolan....the Beef/M.Murley. If Dolan is shorter than Bailen, can't tell them apart yet, Dolan is very offensive minded. They worked well together. Obviously too early to say these will be the pairings come game day.
RPI's recruit announcement listed them as: Koudys - 6'4 200 LeBeef - 6'4 190

My kind of boys! Now we just have to feed them and put some bulk on them. I love when we have twin towers back there on defense. :)

Mark Cavosie also skated with the team earlier this month before heading overseas. RB & RC are correct about SA not being involved w/practice. Beauregard has been skating at the forward position at the practices I've seen

Good. Beauregard needs to stay up front. We are too thin there now and his skating just isn't good enough to have him chasing speedy forwards around. I doubt he sees one game on D this year.

Of course now that I said that he'll probably start the 1st game at D.

THink NCAA prohibits the number of practices the coach can hold prior to the first game. Captain usually leads the practices until then.

It has been a tough month so for a little perspective of where we've been and where we're going. An article from Adam Wodon called Rensselaer Revivial

Keep the faith everyone, Coach Appert has got us going in the right direction.

Isn't that what they used to call those 2 game events every baseball team used to run every sunday when I was a kid? A great bargain to see at least 18 innings for one price admission. Those were the days before they tried to squeeze every dollar out of every fan.:(

In this case, $10 gets you in to see the Cherry and White game followed by an AHL preseason game.

If adk is the Phantoms, you may get to see the Testwuide brothers playing together.
J.P.--DU Captain '09--signed with Phantoms last week.
Mike-- CC Captain '10--signed with Flyers earlier this year.
At least their mother won't have to wear "half and half" sweater.

The last time they played on the same team was '04-'05 for Waterloo in the USHL

FWIW, the Chicago Wolves of the AHL are a farm club of the Atlanta Thrashers, so I hope nobody's planning any trips to see Pirri play for the Wolves.

The Blackhawks' AHL affiliate is the Rockford IceHogs.

It probably isn't worth much, since I don't think Rockford is scheduled to play Albany, either.

Neither Syracuse. We do get Toronto, though.

Not to pick the scab but we got a mention in the Globe hockey notes today:

"hardly considered among the NCAA's elite teams" is hopefully a comment they can't make for much longer. Some local bias there too ... I doubt they would say the same about Northeastern or Harvard.

I think that Kelly is coming at this from the wrong direction.
He has college players that made it in the NHL talking to prospects to let them know that it is possible to get to the NHL through college hockey.
He should be getting the enormous number of college players that didn't make it to the NHL and still had a leg up on their lives because of degrees from respected universtities. All these kids think that they are going to play professional hockey for the rest of their lives. Maybe finding out that it is more likely that they will be working for a living will give them the incentive to choose a college that will give them the best opportunity for life. JMO

You also have to consider how many players looking to choose between college and major junior are going to be thinking that far down the road, and I'm talking after the pro career is done. I realize that's what these "advisors" are for, to help the player with these decisions, but there's a reason they teach "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" in our professional development classes: because most of us never think even that far.
