Far from official, last I heard, which was last month, but she has gotten D-I interest. It's a daughter of a cousin, and it isn't RPI. :(
Nonetheless, that is exciting for your family.

The name Sean Blunden (College Prospects) came up, but I don't remember what the connection was.
He was the guy who gave Yanik Laliberte (Jacob's brother) the concussion.

Sounds like he'd be a perfect fit at Brown.

The height is no typo...we have the grocery bills to prove it.

I will take copious notes (and fortunately there will be some hockey guys there who can give input.

There are two other defenseman on that team who are also listed as 6'6".

BTW, Luke is listed as #5 and Nick Quinn as #21, both of which will become available in 2011. Will those be their numbers in Dubuque also?

Dunno about Flanagan, but Carrabino is taller than 6'6" and is not committed to a school yet...hint, hint ;) ...Doc would love him.

The B. R. O. wore #5 for a long time and has mentioned going back to it...dunno about Quinn but I imagine that number was his choice.

This year's seniors for defense are Kennedy, Foss, Brutlag (though he's at forward now, I'll still consider him an emergency d-man), and Beauregard (potential D, we'll still consider him). Aside from the incoming freshman, that leaves only Bergin for the year after. We could definitely use at least another defensive recruit. I'm sure that the coaching staff have someone in mind, whether or not it is this "hint".

Because Bergin redshirted, there are no defensemen completing their four years in 2012. That isn't to say that he might not leave then anyway.

Bergin and Bailen both complete their eligibility in 2013.

IIRC Quinn wore 21 before his trade last season and 24 after that. He probably prefers 21.

Not to mention, Rabbani already switched jersey numbers once.

True. it used to be quite common for RPI players to switch numbers during their college careers, probably when a more desired number became available. Rabbani, who switched for JD'A, has been the only switch in a while.

Salivating here right now! Anything over 6'2" for me is like a stimulant. I don't mind having a group of small forwards (along with the occassional big power forward) but on defense i like my boys big. :)

For the record, I was not intimating that this was a legitimate recruiting hint as I have no way of knowing who is in the pipeline unless 'I am told'. This is my personal observation and I'm rooting for him.

This is why I had mentioned that the coaching staff must have someone in mind. I don't know if they would consider an occasional "tip" from us here on the forum, especially seeing as how WaP mentioned in an interview that these forums aren't viewed by the coaching staff due to time constraints. For the most part, we have to "paparazzi", as it were, the stands at various games for recruiting because the NCAA prohibits coaching staff from speaking outside the organization about recruits that are not enrolled at the school, or do some tough googling for anything players would say about the schools they are looking into.

Dare I add that I also wonder what the current expectations of the coaching staff is about Jacob Laliberte's future?

Wicked! I'm surprised at you! I think RC's articles are the difference maker on this thead...you all are doing the best you can trying to remain timely. RC puts his time in to really educate [me, at least]...and you want them archived? That deserves a face palm (not, in my humble estimation, the ever more grave head desk) Just for that you only get a half portion of my home made Irish Cream the next time we meet at HFH... :p :D
Wow - now i've done it, I've quickly gotten into the bad graces of Babo. I've actually read most of them, but wanted to razz RC...:p

Great story...me thinks there would have been a shorter wait if the solo zamboni was at RPI :p

Its all true and if memory serves at that time Union didn't have a Zamboni brand surfacer, but owned an Olympia brand machine - which for folks who don't know, is the cheap Canadian knock off of the superior original Zamboni.

(IIRC, it was Olympia machines that left the speed skating oval looking like a gravel road during the Whistler Olympics, only to be hastily replaced by American-made Zambonis which were hauled in from Vancouver.) :D
