The latest bulletin from Cornwall...as well as word that the Spink twins continue to impress.

"...Next weekend, they'll (the Spink twins) be on the ice at the annual Colts July prospects camp. So will Laliberte, who by then is expected to have informed MacInnis if he'll be back in the lineup for one final Central Hockey League tier l season."

As a matter of fact, I'll probably be in the north next weekend, I may have to run up to Cornwall to see if I see any familiar faces in the stands....

The one day that I did not check that newspaper. :( :D

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season III -- How we learned to stop worrying and love the Class of

For the record, depending on which source you use, Matt is listed at somewhere between - 6'0-6'1 & 190-200 lbs... Assuming the customary player ht./wght. inflation, he's probably 5'11 1/2 - 189lbs. in street clothes.:p

The Grizzlies listed him at 6'1 190. His line was 59- 23-22-45 69PIM

And he will only get better. I do not think we will be disappointed with him in Troy.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season III -- How we learned to stop worrying and love the Class of

That's what he looked like to me when I saw him in the spring of 2008. Conceivably he was 6'0", but no taller. Jarred was about 6'2", and I have no doubt that he has grown since.

Agreed RB...they were closer in height when I saw them at HFH...granted it was a few years ago. Jarred must've had one heckuva growth spurt to get to 6'6"..if that is in fact his actual height. :p

I would think that it is correct or he might be even taller. That is the height where continued growth is often viewed as a negative in hockey, so instead of inflating heights, they are deflated. That point has, however, increased over the years. I remember Dale Watson '69 being listed as 6'2" when he looked taller to me.

Ralph-I stood next to Watson when he was a freshman. I was in my last year and stood a shade under 6' and he had me by 3 or 4 inches. Your memory is indeed accurate:)

The draft speaks volumes

Did it speak volumes to you last year when Jerry and Brandon were selected?

Add 30 blind NHL teams to the list of 1

Just because a RPI player wasnt picked in the draft this weekend does not mean that the NHL is "blind" to players at RPI. Last season I saw a Bruins scout taking notes on several players from RPI during one game. Sure none of our incoming players got picked but it doesnt mean that they are off the radars of the NHL teams.

On a different level, this board used to be a great place to post info about RPI hockey with people and share in the greatness that is college hockey. There are people who post here that do great work in keeping us the common fan updated on the ins and outs of whats happening in Troy and to have general bickering and arguments on here just brings the level of the forum down in my opinion. Lately it seems like it has turned into a forum for name calling and general immaturity between people which does not really contribute much to the theme of this board which the last time I checked is RPI hockey. Im all about having passionate discussions about RPI hockey but to bring it to the levels of calling someone a hick or loser just doesnt help in keeping a good vibe here.

So maybe before people post they should step back and take a second look at what they are about to put on here and think "will it really make the forum better". Im sure people will jump on me for this then go ahead I can take it and I promise I wont drop to the level of name calling.

I 100% agree with your post and was not talking about the RPI program. Great players are exactly that, great players. They get drafted no matter where they play. The scouts and teams determine who they are and dont get fooled. RPI has a very good track record of producing excellant players, Jerry is no exception.

You must be proud of yourself that you made this prediction. Rooting against a 19 year old kid must be really uplifting. Have you thought about going to therapy? How does that session go? You state to the psychiatrist that you had a great weekend because you predicted a 19 year kid would not get drafted in the NHL.

No, scouts NEVER get fooled...All of these kids - without exception -- who were drafted are destined to be stars.

You leaving Red Cloud??

You display a definite lack of ability when it comes to reading comprehension.

A) I never said he would get picked.
B) I never said I would leave if he didn't. I asked if you would if he did.

This surprises, no one, however, as you have also displayed the cognitive capacity of a fourth-grader since you arrived here at USCHO.

Never once said anything about draft
The two I quoted above mentioned draft and did so like idiots. Almost hexed the kid
I didn't because I knew it was not going to happen.

He will have fun in college and with a couple more years in jrs has a chance at a solid carear at RPIhe will struggle in USHL. Look no further than the two big D at Yougnstown and how fart they dropped last year. Both stronger and higher rated and got chewed up and dropped like rocks and did not get drafted and don't have D 1 deals Which is borderline unheard of

I hope he proves me wrong

George Roll is no Ted Danato. I would be dissapointed and surprised if He pulled that stunt without speaking w/SA and getting His blessing(that is a possibility). I believe there is honer among most Coaches bar 1(TD).I believe SA is a stand up Guy and would do the same if the rolls were reversed.JMO

uhhhhh....... I think SUNY Canton is the "derogatory" nickname for SLU. CCT would be SUNY Potsdam.

FAIL and FAIL.

The only Y'town d-man ranked in the CSB was Andrej Sustr '90 at #195. BTW, Sustr (6' 6") is headed to UNO.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good scrum, right Dad?
