.

And, I love you two posters, and the enthusiasm that you bring to the thread.

B12 thanks for the lovely sentiment. I take no offense and mean none towards anyone. Enjoy everyone on the board, everyone!!! B12, my best to you and yours for a joyous Christmas season and Happy New Year. God bless.

RPI 2010-2011 Part III- Iron Men-Quest For The Third Title!
RPI 2010-2011 Part III-Iron Men-Quest For Title Number 3!
RPI2010-2011 Part III-Cardiac Kids-Quest For Title Number 3!

As I wrote earlier, I like the Iron Men reference, and the addition of a reference to a third title improves it, however it may make sense to hold off on that title until later in the season. I'll go along with "RPI 2010-11 Part III: Red Cloud Returns" if RC will guarantee that he won't go off sulking again when someone posts something that he doesn't agree with, no matter how asinine it might actually be. :p

You would know something about sulking, wouldn't you?

I acknowledge that he knows a great deal more about hockey than I ever will, but I just can't stand his vituperative putdowns of those who disagree with him.

I am never vituperative. Opprobrious, yes, but never vituperative.

I don't recall that I have ever threatened to stop posting here due to others posting things that I disagree with. :p

Nor have I. You have, however, been known to act like a whipped puppy when things don't go your way.

The reason I don't post anymore with any frequency is because this is the level of conversation around here, not to mention the non-stop pessimism. This place is a shell of what it once was.

The puppies will be whipped on Saturday! :)

Exactly what I'm talking about.

Now I am going to have to google that. What????

You may want to read the ENTIRE post, including what I had quoted. This wouldn't be the first time that hasn't happened.

This is fromYale Daily News. For those of that were there, this is a pretty good take on Fri.'s Yale game from Yale News outlet -
" RPI was able to contain Yale for long stretches by playing a physical game and preventing the Bulldogs from taking their customary number of shots. Yale managed only 24 shots against RPI, compared to 40 against Union."

I don't think that our effort to limit Yale on shots was just our defense but also our skating prowess. If you noticed in the U v Yale game it became a game of keep away for the Bulldogs. U could not keep up with them, that Miller kid just skated circles around them. I thought the committment to the conditioning was a big factor in the Yale game for us. Good news is we hung with the best team in the nation. Again, I think the guys in stripes didn't let the players decide this one but were right there as being one of the best teams in the country.

RPI doesn't belong to the WHCA, so they couldn't skate around us. :)

If anything, that would also be a very good reason as to why USMA Colorado Springs won. Typically the service academies are extremely well conditioned, and even we had difficulty playing against West Point last year. I would venture a guess that West Point, if they had Yale on the schedule, could also win.

The legs feed the wolf. ;)

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

A problem about our tourney for us, which hasn't been mentioned, is that we play two games but may owe three teams return visits. We often don't have to pay back AHA schools, but note that we are going to UConn's tourney next season. Personally, the biggest thing that the tourney has going for it is tradition. Things could improve when the BTHC starts up since more schools will be looking for OOC games, but I wonder if it will last that long.

Not so sure about that !

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

I have no issue with DrD's incessant pessimism, Ralph's "will he or won't he" saga on the Recruits thread, FD's unique insights as a recent student.........

Burgie-When you have been around watching this team for 47 years-and only seen them get into the NCAA Tournament 5 times total-you might understand a little of the pessimism. I don't think anyone here wants this team to win more than either Ralph or I do. I have seen and listened to over 1000 RPI hockey games and my viewpoint comes from a very different perspective than yours. I have a lot of RPI history to draw on and compare to. I don't criticize anyone who posts on this board(well, except for one flamer) because I respect that they have a valuable opinion and it is there honest thoughts and I encourage anyone to speak their mind(except for one). You are entitled to your opinion and I respect what you post-just please remember when some of the elders speak, where they are coming from. As usual-just my opinion.

RB: Agree whole heartedly-if we can keep this tournament going a couple more years, even if it is just tradition and weaker fields, it could see a rebound. I am an old **** but I would miss this chance to get 3 other teams into Troy for a couple games. And I still feel it is one of the best bargains to buy a ticket and see a double header two days in a row.

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

I have no issue with DrD's incessant pessimism, Ralph's "will he or won't he" saga on the Recruits thread, FD's unique insights as a recent student, jmhusker, Waite, GRuss, fishcore, Jasma, Senna, or any other number of posters who provide sensible statements and contribute to the hockey discussion in this thread (and my apologies for the large number of fans who post here who all provide useful commentary whom I did not list). rvd may be annoying with his lack of grammar and illegible posts, but at least half the time he provides meaningful discussion points.

And, I would be the first to state that I go off topic fairly easily and get side-tracked by meaningless discussions such as this.

And, I love you two posters, and the enthusiasm that you bring to the thread. You know a sh!+ ton about hockey and you obviously care deeply about this team. And the posts that you make in that vein are fantastic and I love reading them. However, there is a significant portion of your posts which deal with the failings of a specific sportswriter (who works for the paper of our rivals, for gosh sake!) and focus too intently on one specific poster. I am not going to put you on ignore. I think that's childish. But, I will continue to state that I think that, occasionally, you pick a topic and beat it until it's four feet underground and bleeding profusely.

Too early. Save that for IV or V.
WOW !! I feel like I just got hit over the head w/Grabthar's Hammer !!!! (left handed no less)
