I really don't care what you call it, but it should have something to do with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Hockey team. JMO

Because I don't like to deal in negativity like B12 does, I want to suggest we go with a positive title. Actually, Ralph suggested it earlier from a post my dear brother troyboy submitted regarding my petition drive to bring back Red Cloud..."Part III Red Cloud Returns"
Let's do it Ralph. Part III Red Cloud Returns. C'mon we need to do this.
Let's put it up for a vote. You know where I stand. I will most likely hurt RC chances. Ok if not a vote, let's leave it up to DrD. He is very fair (and balanced) minded.
Ralph it was your idea. Not mine.
I vote for RED CLOUD RETURNS
Put me down for RED CLOUD RETURNS.

Is this really what we're spending posts on?

My vote goes for "Iron Men" or "Mr. Appert, Penn State on Line 1. Tell them to leave a message."

As for the games and our style, I'm with WS at Post 908. We play with what we have. I'll be in Philly for the Army / Navy game, but I'll still be cheering "LET'S GO RED!"

Fair and balanced minded? You have never seen Jenny and me dressed for the BRF. Neither of us can ever be considered balanced. But if i had to vote-i like the Iron Man reference. But the Bailen out the D has kind of a nice ring to it.

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

Red Cloud is the only person on the USCHO boards whom I have put on ignore.

I acknowledge that he knows a great deal more about hockey than I ever will, but I just can't stand his vituperative putdowns of those who disagree with him.

I'm not in favor of "Red Cloud Returns" as the title of the next thread, but I would find even that title preferable to another as whiny as the title of the current thread.

Make the title about the team. This idea rates up there with the FOX glowing puck.

There goes that relationship !!!!

Let me ask you something. Do you pay for bandwidth on this thread? I got a name of a thread - Burgie 12 - I only want people to post that think and talk like me.

So I will put you down as a yes vote.

I'm going to just simply ignore some of these ridiculous posts in the hope that if other join in, the lack of attention will stop the incessant ramblings.

Here's an idea: RPI III - Never give up, never surrender!

Yes, I like that dumb Tim Allen movie.

By Grabthar's Hammer, you will be avenged!

I think that, since we have league play coming up, it should be something about that. Hence why I had suggested "Ready or not, ECAC, Here comes the 'Tute!"
RPI III - First Round Bye or BUST!

I have no issue with DrD's incessant pessimism, Ralph's "will he or won't he" saga on the Recruits thread, FD's unique insights as a recent student, jmhusker, Waite, GRuss, fishcore, Jasma, Senna, or any other number of posters who provide sensible statements and contribute to the hockey discussion in this thread (and my apologies for the large number of fans who post here who all provide useful commentary whom I did not list). rvd may be annoying with his lack of grammar and illegible posts, but at least half the time he provides meaningful discussion points.

And, I would be the first to state that I go off topic fairly easily and get side-tracked by meaningless discussions such as this.

And, I love you two posters, and the enthusiasm that you bring to the thread. You know a sh!+ ton about hockey and you obviously care deeply about this team. And the posts that you make in that vein are fantastic and I love reading them. However, there is a significant portion of your posts which deal with the failings of a specific sportswriter (who works for the paper of our rivals, for gosh sake!) and focus too intently on one specific poster. I am not going to put you on ignore. I think that's childish. But, I will continue to state that I think that, occasionally, you pick a topic and beat it until it's four feet underground and bleeding profusely.

RPI III - First Round Bye or BUST!
Too early. Save that for IV or V.

Well said; I totally agree. We are lucky to have one of the most (if not THE most) active communities on here, especially in relation to our program's recent lack of success and school's size. Once we make the NCAA's (or even the ECAC tournament) we will have quite a smack-talking posse. I'd hate to see any one of our own get driven away over petty issues! :)
