Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

The double minor in the third was caused by Martin not letting go of the RPI's players leg which was clamped between his legs seemingly on purpose, they kept rolling around until tempers flared (during some good 10 seconds of hockey I might add). The other thing I failed to mention was that Yale did an excellent job on the penalty kill.

I understand fans being one sided and seeing only the good in their team (I'm about to do it just like you did). The way to stop a fast team like Yale is to bang them up. That's hockey. I's not figure skating. It's called a collision sport because there's lots of hitting and aggression. I love the smashmouth nature of this team. You like the fast and slick...If you're coming on this thread to tell us our players are dirty, go peddle your whale bilge elsewhere.

I noted Yales lack of physical play against your team and complimented both your team and your goaltenders skill, try getting that from some other opposing fan. The fact that RPI is undisciplined and chippy is the fault of the coach. Less penalties=more wins. Your skin is a little thin there Babo.

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

Officiating was as usual inconsistant...the penalty that put us down 5 on 3 was ticky tacky to say the least... in fact the same thing happened shortly after that, this time it was a yale player and no call was made...Im not saying there was any motive just inconsistancy...again the officiating dictated the outcome of an ECAC game what a surprise....Just an opinion, that was not the #2 or #3 team in the country again in my opinion.

Well,Troyboy, you KNOW what "they" say about opinions!!!!!! Actually, you may be correct...... with the OTHER Bulldogs losing tonight..... who knows what Monday may bring? But don't be FRIGHTENED!!!!! #1 counts ONLY on 04/10/2011.

I was not there and obviously did not see the call. Listening on WRPI cannot take the place of actually seeing it-but any call in the third period that puts a team down 2 men-in a tie game especially-should have had to have been an obvious call. If it was, so be it and we shot ourselves in the foot. If it wasn't, then it's another case of the refs making a game deciding poor call. Let's move on and handle Brown-better than we did last year and get our revenge when Yale comes to HFH.Hopefully we will be closer to full strength for that one.

Please stop the lecturing and moaralizing. Why don't you go back to complaining about the fan base yelling the same things.

Believe me I am not going to try and lecture anyone here, just really like to point out how people get a set on here and would probably never say half the things they do while they are behind a computer screen and made up name that they would in real life. But hey, if it makes them feel better more power to them I guess.

I know what you mean kinda like I forgot more about college hockey than you will ever know....NANANA !!!

Yeah and you probably have what 15-20 years on me in terms of watching college hockey?

I appreciate your trying to be fair but knock the chipy stuff off. You have a guy named Kearney that was really chippy and a guy who cross checked Brock Higgs at the end of the game. The penalities in the third was a home job by Ref Millea. You guys got the calls in your building, got it. BTW- can you guys at Yale turn the heat up in the building. I felt like Rocky in the meat cooler scene. Also, Seth Appert is one of the finest young coaches in College Hockey and plays a style of hockey that Yale should appreciate. No need to knock him.

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

I don’t know if the Engineer’s lack discipline or if they are overly chippy. I like to think that Seth has them playing an aggressive style that sometimes lends itself to penalties.
What does make me scratch my head is SA replaying a terrible call in front of the press. I know he had his player’s backs but………………..
The officials are a tight group. If you attack one ECAC group of refs you attack them all. The cherry and red can’t expect to fly around the ice in the third period with impunity. If anything they need to be extra careful. On ice officials are like elephants they don’t forget.

Re: RPI 2010-11 Part II: RPI, the Other Team, the Refs -- We're outnumbered 10 to 6.

It also seemed to me that the 2 calls in the 3rd to put RPI down 2 men could have both been avoided. The first came after a failed dump attempt from center ice which Yale turned into an odd-man rush and RPI penalty. The 2nd came after a failed clearing attempt near the top of the zone when on the kill which allowed Yale to keep it in the zone soon leading to the call. I'm not saying either penalty was a good or bad call by the refs as I admittedly didn't have the greatest view of that end of the ice but I do think both could have been avoided.

Mike from Lynah seems not to have any problems after he "vented" on the refs.

Kinda of like you running me down and tb "behind a computer screen". Be consistent.

Enjoy the rest of the season, you keep posting your jabs against a local beat writer and talking trash about him when in real life you wouldnt say any of these things to him, or I at least hope you wouldnt and would be able to have a civil discussion with him about whatever flaws you and your buddy TB have with him. All Im trying to say is that this place has become a one upper on who can be the nastiest to people and think they are awesome for doing so.

There may be a reason why other teams fans do not come on here and post things, mostly out of fear of being told in a immature manner that what they say doesnt matter at all, no matter how right or wrong they may be. What once was a fun place to post has turned into a angry, sad place for people to treat others like crap. Most statements are void of any facts and just straight insults to people and seeing how far down someone can be brought. But hey, its alright its just the internet.

Yeah that was a lecture and trying to be moral on how people shouldnt be treated when trying to make a statement or give opinions.

This is a lively thread when you jump in be prepared to have at it you were treated no worse than we treat our own so apparently YOUR skin is a little on the thin side....before you come back be prepared to take a few hits. And if you keep talking smack about our coach you might want to put a cup on.And yes we are homers......sorry

tb is my brother. You right it is only the internet... so relax. As tb pointed out, we're homers ... at least we have the integrity to admit it.

Rogic played well last night. He is making small progression. I think I had too high expectations as a frosh for him but he is doing well on the PK.

Thanks for your description. Martin had him locked up for quite a while yet the ref's arm wasn't up. He only made a call when Cullen grabbed Martin's face mask and pulled him over to get free. At first I thought only Cullen was going off and was angry, but in many ways the matching minors annoyed me more. It indicates that the ref saw a penalty being committed for quite some time by the home team and was going to let it go. RPI should have been on a power play or at least a delayed penalty long before Cullen's transgression.

I did not see Cullen grab the face mask. If you saw that it makes sense now. This situation is similar to when ECAC refs call tripping then embellishment on the player that was tripped. That makes no sense whatsoever. Stewart needs to address that issue in particular.

Thanks mom I needed that...it is very cowardly of me to sit behind my computer screen and use an alias beings that everyone else post under there there given name(what is fishcore Irish and 12 thats you mothers maiden name ?)I guess I have a fundamental mis understanding of this thread.I try to post things that evoke a reaction from other people to keep the thread moving don't take it personaly its not ment that way just trying to get a reaction and keep the thread on the first page so I will in the future refrain from disagreeing w/you....but I ask that anytime I post and you disagree that you jump on me with both barrels I would expect no less.I also ask that you don't blame me for my posting style I modeled myself after the greatest poster to ever troll this forum RED CLOUD(and yes that is his real name)so I respectfully ask you to blame him not me(wow is that cowardly)thank you for your time.....respecfully troyboy....BTW what do you expect from somebody from troy ?
