Re: RPI 2009 - 2010 -- RIP Nathan Marsters

I have no doubt that there are captain-led exercises underway. I know in years past I have seen the players running the lovely hills of Troy in late August - early Sept.

I am sure that they are out there running and in the weight room, but are they getting any ice time? Is there any ice in the HFH at this time?

Ice was put down earlier than usual this year. It was down for the freshmen orientation festivities that went on a week or two ago, so its there and ready to go.

I wonder why they were already in Potsdam in early July.

Rampant speculation: Early July points to me that they were there, potentially, for the holiday around the 4th. Any other theory building based off of this would be very unwise and lead to massive rumor mongering.

Two Clarkson freshman hockey players are allegedly in trouble with the law http://www.watertowndailytimes.com/article/20090908/NEWS05/309089966.

A third kid has been charged. http://www.watertowndailytimes.com/article/20090908/NEWS09/909089977

Turns out that a 19 yr. old kid who is a '11 Clarkson commit was also involved. From the clip above: "...Demetri Sakaris played forward last season for Vaudreuil-Dorion of Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League."

This might raise more questions & possible problems for Rolle - if this kid was on campus with the team, but not enrolled, etc. Others know far more about recruiting rules than I.

In any event this is an ugly blemish for Rolle and his program. It'll be interesting to see how the Clarkson admin. handles this one, after going nuclear during the Morris/ Zach Schwan fiasco.
