I know DrD was just kidding since he knows as well as I do that we haven't been swept in the North Country in seven years.

The North Country ain't what it used to be for sure. I still use it as a little bit of a gauge though. It is a place we have had little success over the years-so when we do I have my spirits lifted exponentially. My Adirondack home is not all that far from those 2 sites so Jenny and I used to go up for the games every year-we have seen some awful results over the years (and one real surprise sweep a few years ago). I don't know if it is the long bus ride, the home town refs(in the past), or what. I do think that Coach Marsh does seem to prepare his teams exceptionally well to play us as they seem to anticipate our every move. This will be one very interesting weekend-hopefully we come back healthy and with 2 points(or more):)

Maybe (read: I'm sure), I didn't look thoroughly enough, but I didn't see any of the editorials on USCHO or INCH mention Friday's win. This is especially perplexing to me seeing as the USCHO writer of the current main page piece pointed out that "No. 6 Yale was seven seconds away from a stunning loss to Union..."

I'm not enough of a tool to actually give a **** whether they mention it or not, but I just found it odd that they left that out in favor of something like, "No. 13 Alaska beat No. 9 Notre Dame 3-1." Just seems odd.

That may be true, but the last time RPI was swept in North Country (i.e. came back having lost both games) was 7 years ago, the 2002-2003 season.

Oh, woops. I went back and re-read RC's post. I missed the "been" in "been swept" :o

Just your typical liberal media east-west bias.:p Actually, USCHO's dirty little secret is that ECAC teams are not allowed any positive mention on the homepage before Thanksgiving. :D

Also, RPI does not offer recaps to USCHO. That's probably why there's no story.

Perhaps we should instead be asking why USCHO has no arena reporter for HFH yet doesn't list the position as open on their jobs page?

This makes the most sense to me.
Well, I hope they keep up the good work; it can only help us fly under the radar. I'm sure it won't last for long if RED stays on track.

Moving on...

When does the bus leave Friday? I'm drivin' up with a buddy and figured we'd just follow the bus.

The team typically departs Thursday night for a weekend series, to the best of my knowledge. That said, the drive up to Clarkson isn't a particularly bad one, and with nice weather it shouldn't give you any trouble at all. rpihockey.net has directions from Troy, or you can pop it into your favorite map site for something a little more exact.
