RIT Women 2010 offseason

Re: RIT Women 2010 offseason

The Tigers absolutely have the best recruiting class in the ECAC West for 2010-2011.

Re: RIT Women 2010 offseason

Their best recruit is going to Kolbee Mcrea from Burlington.

Definitely a very high end D3 recruit who will make a big impact at this level. Another fine player from Thunder Bay.

I guess RIT always had the inside track on this one since she billeted with the family of RIT's assistant coach while playing in Burlington. ;)

Re: RIT Women 2010 offseason

Yup...hearing as many as 8 coming in and they graduated 3. Either more have left or there is going to be a come to Jesus meeting in Rochester...

Last time I spoke with coach we had 4 coming in, 2 at forward and 2 at D. Not sure where that stands now though. But yes, Torgerson is leaving which I think reflects what we all suspected, which was that Scotty would be going with Carly King in net next year.

Re: RIT Women 2010 offseason

wow, losing another? She had a good year!

Too bad if this is true, she looked good last year.

It's the unfortunate reality of women's hockey. Turnover, transfers or the girls just hang up the skates for good. Every team at every level goes through it. I hate to see the good ones leave early.

Re: RIT Women 2010 offseason

Kayla is going to Nursing school back home. It was a hard decision to leave hockey and her team mates but I think the fun was gone for her.

Amy is having hip surgery this week. She was mis-diagnosed by the team surgeon all year and played with a torn hip labrum. She too will miss her team mates but sometimes leaving and moving on is for the best.

Re: RIT Women 2010 offseason

Heck of a resume there for Chamberlain. Goalie controversy? :p

Glad to see Scotty wasn't joking when he said RIT would be building a bigger team. Size has always been a problem and has cost RIT chances at championships. I'm excited to see what this all does for them.

Also, Meaghan Gucks gettin' props? Boo, she's a Brown coach now. ;)

This would probably explain why Torgerson transfered. Tough to be a 3rd goalie in a three goalie rotation.
Adding two big D to a small defensive unit should balance things out back there.

And I will now be cheering for Brown because of Coach Guckian. Got to know her a little bit in hockey class, well the ones I went to.

Torgerson was gone long before Chamberlain came on the scene.

Look for King to be gone next.
