Princeton and Army just finished their Wednesday night OOC game that was rescheduled from last night on account of the weather. Army will have one day's rest before RIT on Friday night. Do you think the short rest will give RIT an advantage? Army lost 4-1 to Princeton.

I'm sure the extra rest is nice, but the Army guys are all in fantastic shape (just like Air Force) so I'm sure they won't miss a beat physically. Also losing to a team as bad as Princeton this season likely gives them motivation to come out strong on Friday. That said, I think RIT is far and away the more talented team and 3-4 points is a must.

One guy that will be rested is Tyler Pham, Army's leading scorer. He served a suspension and had to sit out the Princeton game.

3 games in 4 days is tough for anyone.

Well, they are training to go to war...so I sure hope they are conditioned enough to play sports a few nights a week.

Tyler played last Saturday night against RMC in Army's 8-0 win. Not an NCAA game I guess. So he is on regular rest just sat out the mid week OOC game. For those at the game he is the real deal and is fun to watch as long as he doesn't beat us.

I remember people talking about this back in October - are we allowed to bring cameras (DSLR's) into the arena? Their policies page is somewhat vague, it just says no "professional equipment, unless you have media credentials".

RIT loves playing down to teams worse than them. This weekend will be very interesting. If we do not get three points at minimum this would be a disastrous weekend.

I think you should be okay with a typical DSLR, but you can always call the arena to make sure.

True, but even during their terrible season last year they took care of business against Army. The military academies always play hard, which I think makes it harder to play down to them.

RIT has slept through the first half of this game, let's hope the time out and the goalie change wakes them from their slumber otherwise this game will be over before we know it.

Well tonight was a great game for those of us proving that the team simply plays better for Rotolo.

We've not got three weeks worth of Friday/Saturday goalie rotation in which Ruby has failed to win a single game. Additionally in those three games RIT has still only managed to score 3 total goals with Ruby in net.

RIT trailed 13-11 in shots tonight at the time Ruby was mercifully yanked. Shortly thereafter RIT took the lead in shots and steadily extended that lead over the rest of the game. RIT also outscored Army during Rotolo's time in net, and Rotolo himself made more saves than Ruby and allowed no goals. For those keeping score at home, that now means that the Tigers have now scored 10 goals for Rotolo in the new year, a full touchdown's worth more than for Ruby...and Rotolo still has to make his start tomorrow.

At this point there's absolutely no reason in the world why Ruby should continue to get starts. He's giving up too many goals on too few shots and is not winning games.

Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

We had a very high attendance tonight of 3,403. I wonder how many will be showing up tomorrow...

Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

I think the coaching staff has to ask themselves why the team was so flat at the start.

A quick check on the Air Force - Romo game shows AF up 3-1 at the end of the second. No matter what you think of Coach Serratore, he motivates his players, squeezing every inch of talent and effort out of them.

"Rochester" said it earlier and the radio guys essentially repeated it tonight: "RIT loves playing down to teams worse than them."

I think this teams biggest challenge is to play to it's full potential each night, the coaching staff can yell and scream all they want after the game but maybe before the game would be more appropriate. I guess I sound harsh. Disappointed.

Please tell me Ruby lost his job tonight. After this performance, I am sure RIT will win tomorrow after a terrible Friday as usual.

Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

Let's not put this all on Ruby. The whole team was awful for the first half of the game - and they still weren't that great even after the goalie switch. There were very few instances of sustained pressure on offense. The power play was dreadful most of the game - can we decline penalties? The team lost most of the one on one battles. Quite frankly, the team deserved to lose.

To me, this is the first time the team really played bad with Ruby since they started the rotation. The last 3 weeks they were played well, but just not good enough and they would be a little better the next day with Rotolo and get the wins. IF Rotolo wins and has a strong showing and the team plays well, then Coach should strongly consider having Rotolo start next Friday.

Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

As badly as the team played, they still outshot Army by a fair margin, including 17 shots in the second period alone. Can that really be ascribed to a lack of effort? Seems to me more like a lack of execution.

The Tigers played Awful the first period getting out worked all over the ice. On TV between periods Peronne-Fontaine was asked what happened and his response was along the lines of "we thought it would be easier". Kind of says it all....

I don't think we said that at all.

Someone explain to me how the goaltender is responsible for the team scoring goals.

It was some of column A and some of column B. One thing that has always been the case is that the military academies will work and if you don't bring it, you will lose.
