The benefit of being a collegiate team is that you see a huge turnover in fanbase every year, which means lots of new customers on top of those who just like to collect jerseys. I'm sure many of us spending time on the forum here have more than one RIT jersey...

Although I will say that another camo jersey doesn't excite me. I've already got the Wounded Warriors one the women auctioned off, so count me as someone not interested in this years offering.

I still don't have a player worn jersey :( just two generics. I came close to winning the MacClean 'tony the tiger' at auction last weekend, but I wasn't going over my final bid of $160 for that thing. . .

To get back to scheduling for a moment, there is a 3 part story on USCHO regarding scheduling.

Also, what I don't think is realized is that many of the OOC games are set up at least a year or 2 in advance. Unless RIT gets somewhat close to where they were a couple years ago and be at least top 4 AHA, these games do little for teams like Michigan and Boston College where NCAA tournament bids if not Frozen Fours are expected and games count towards pairwise. A losing RIT team hurts their RPI or could conceivably have this game not counted towards that. When has a team like AIC seen a BC or Michigan play them, much less play them close to them.

Does anyone know how healthy RIT will be for tonights line-up?

AFAIK Schuler and Cameron are the only injuries, though Miller is still recovering and may be limited if he dresses.

RIT is not big on guarantees and would rather have a reciprocal arrangement.

Looking back, I think Huntsville always offered $$ to come there even back in the D-III days. Other than that, I'm pretty sure the Minnesota tournament in 2007 (and this year) involved a payment of at least travel expenses, as probably was also the case with the the Maverick Stampede in Omaha in 2010-11 and the Wisconsin series in 2011-12 . Minnesota State in 2009-10 might have involved a guarantee since there was a never a reciprocal.

Niagara seems more interested in guarantees, doing Notre Dame and North Dakota this season. They did Michigan last year with no reciprocal (they also did Denver, but that coincided with one game at Air Force, so Denver was doing Niagara a favor). Off the top of my head, Niagara has gone to Michigan State and played in the Minnesota Tournament since joining AHA. Mercyhurst and Air Force like to do one of the Alaska tournaments almost every year since they get a guarantee and the games are exempt from the NCAA limit of 34.

Like Wilson, I'd rather get the reciprocal that take the money, with two exceptions for selfish reasons - An Alaska trip as well as a series at North Dakota since I'd get to cross those off my list.

This weekend, of course, feels like a split... lose tonight, win tomorrow. Hoping to break the "tradition" of AF beating us Friday nights in Colorado though... :)

No, we're going to get swept, because losing to Boston College proves we're in rebuilding mode.

Ugh, that was really bad, but WITR feed's audio is a bit better now...some equipment probs apparently. Current score is 2-1 RIT at beginning of the 2nd.

Great win for RIT. Very opportunistic. Not too fancy. Lots of shots on goal. I love it. And talk about defense! Wonderful stuff. This is the first time that they've won on a Friday in Colorado Springs. 2 pts!!!

If could sweep the Falcons this weekend that would be a much needed booster in confidence rolling into Robert Morris next weekend. They're rolling on through their opponents so far.

How many freshman made it into the line-up tonight?

I was only able to listen for a very short time tonight but both the Norrish twins were in, along with Abt that I heard.

Mikowski, Golberg and Powell were also in. Golberg and Mikowski each got an assist.

Some thoughts:

If RIT is in "rebuilding mode", what's that say about Air Force?

Have we ever had a freshman class look this comfortable on the ice this quickly?

RIT had five penalties. Air Force seven. When was the last time we took fewer penalties than AF?

I'm really disappointed the radio guys couldn't get Coach Wilson on the air last night; I would have loved to hear his reaction. I would have loved even more to hear Frank Serratore's reaction.

From the AF site.... I imagine Frank had stronger words than this for his team: “We are not a very good team right now,” head coach Frank Serratore said. “We are playing as individuals and not as a team and that is on me. We have to work on some things to simplify our game. We need to find a way to be more effective in a couple of areas.”

Oh no doubt. Here's one from the Colorado Springs Gazette (http://gazette.com/late-period-goal...key-in-fourth-straight-loss/article/1540162): "We're bleeding out of so many orifices right now, I mean, we don't have enough sutures to sew them all up."
