Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Final Game at Ritter/Playoffs <<<<<

I haven't been to an actual game there yet, so this was literally the first time I was in Magness. It seemed pretty dim and dark while we were playing compared to other NCAA rinks and especially NHL sheets. I kind of assumed that they just had partial lighting on though instead of everything they use during actual games.

Is the lighting in that place as hideous as it looks on TV?

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Final Game at Ritter/Playoffs <<<<<

I happen to stop by a Junior Sabres game and got some video of Max Mikowski Tiger recruit for next season. He did have a nice assist on the goal but I made a rookie camera man mistake and wasn't recording at the time. Didn't get too much but you can get an idea of his size. He is impressive, moves well and seems to have good hockey sense. Hopefully he can be physical with that 6 foot 3 frame, RIT needs that...

Re; Magness: During games, the lights are very bright above the ice surface and the seats are in darkness. It's like watching a prize fight.

MSG used to be like that...

RIT released info on the auction starting tomorrow http://www.rit.edu/studentaffairs/frozen/

I'm a bit sticker shocked to be honest. Starting price of $175 seems more like what you'd ask for a pro athlete... or maybe a Hockey East team, not one of the worst performing teams in the country. I do love that design though..

See they know people will pay for it and if they don't the parents of the players don't mind cause they didn't have to suffer the bidding war with the fans. Plus I will say the fact those are one of a kind wool jerseys the athletic department wants to make sure they get all the money they can for them.

Big changes for next year.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?....73072887897.79949.25388082897&type=1&theater

RIT has a new mascot!! RIT officials have been deliberating for some time about the idea of changing our mascot. When this extremely rare two-toned orange and brown lobster was caught last year, they knew they found the one. After all, who doesn't love lobster?

After some months of paperwork, we can finally announce the change. Say hello to our new mascot, Ritzy! Go RIT Lobsters!!

In previous years all of the jerseys started at $150, so this isn't really a big inflation. They know they can sell them at that price..people pay more for regular season worn jerseys.

Yeah, 17% raise in price, no biggie! ;) Hey if the market can bear it then so be it.

I don't want to pay ~$200+ but I really, really like the men's, so I think I will have suck it up and buy one.

As my luck would have it Cornell is having a charity hockey game this weekend, and they are auctioning off two signed Mike Richter sweaters and being a Ranger fan I very much want one. Now just how to convince the wife that two sweaters are necessary expenditures......

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Final Game at Ritter/Playoffs <<<<<

After 3 months+ of both construction cams showing snow blowing of the roof, any chance we might get one of the two cams moved inside the Polisinni Center?

The periodic picutres that have been posted are making me eager to get a better view of the indside of the place.

Doesn't matter how much they raise the price as long as people pay it. As of today the only jersey (men's) without a bid is Stuart Brownell. In the previous auctions I'm fairly confident no jerseys ever went for under $175 so it was a calculated decision I'm sure. Or maybe I'm crazy and they just threw a dart at a board and went with whatever number it hit.

At $500, I assume Cameron's parents have deep pockets...or he has a REALLY big fan.

Did you miss the ;)?

For us older readers....I found out this morning the former RIT Tiger Ben White (played mid 1990's I think) is going to be playing at this game. He now lives in Ithaca.

Caleb Cameron leads the bidding at 500! Is that a gun he's holding?

I saw his mom say something on Twitter like "apparently there is someone out there who loves Caleb more than I do" so that's a REALLY BIG fan

Even I did not bid that much on Ryan Scott's jersey...
