>>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

I posted the link below to seat selection. Pick your seats then check out. Whether or not I was suppose to be able to do that already.. idk.

EDIT: Nvm, that link is busted. Just go to the "game selection" web page (https://www.rithockey.com/Online/default.asp). Then search for event Blue Cross. The first option will be the Michigan game and the option to buy tickets is linked.

Thanks!

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

For the lazy, will buying BCA/Homecoming tickets now be cheaper than buy the Season+BCA package through RIT?

Going on GA Adult prices only, the difference between Full season tickets and Ritter only season tickets is $35. A BCA ticket is $15, and a Frontier Field ticket is $10 for "limited view," $15 for 100 Level, and $25 for 200 level. So it will be the same, or cheaper, to buy BCA now and FF when available, and the Ritter Only season tickets.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Before you all jump the gun on buying tickets...from the Corner Crew FB page:

I just spoke with Scott the AAD about Season Tickets. There will be a special Corner Crew package for us where the Blue Cross and Frontier game will put you in a GA section set asside for just Corner Crew. So you can still get the deal price buying the full package and get to sit in the CC section. Stay tuned for the special code you will need to enter to get this package.

I believe the full season ticket package includes a $25 ticket to the game at frontier field. So it will cost $5 more to get the same tickets. But the advantage is you get to pick your seats.

I think you beat the system, I am getting On sale Tue Jul 30 2013 - 10:00 AM

The question I have is if you are going to be a season ticket holder and you know your going to have friends coming to the game can you reserve extra tickets with them? Judging by the site I don't think so, your going to have wait till single game tickets are available.... If anyone comes across this answer be appreciated...

There has to be a better way to do this...

I'm also wondering about this:

Full Season Ticket Holder Benefits
- Save up to 20%!
- Includes the Brick City Homecoming Game, RIT vs. Michigan @ Blue Cross Arena
- Includes RIT vs. Niagara at Frontier Field
- Priority status for purchasing Atlantic Hockey Association Playoff tickets @ Frank Ritter Ice Arena
- One pre-game reception - TBD
- First opportunity to purchase reserved seats
- Limited Priority Seating: On game nights, season ticket holders will have first access to a reserved section located by the concession stand (section has limited seats and is first come, first served. If seats remain 10 minutes into the game, the section will be opened for general seating)
- 15% off RIT hockey merchandise from Barnes and Noble @ RIT
- No Fees! Avoid per ticket and delivery fees on season tickets purchases

What exactly do they mean by "full season ticket holder"? Does purchasing ritter only tickets qualify? I sure hope it does because unless they've changed their policy about tickets for the 5 and under crowd I don't have a choice but to buy my frontier and BCA tickets seperately.

No, the Ritter only tickets don't qualify for this. However, the only difference is the inclusion of the BCA and FF games. Everything else is still included. I also was left with only one reasonable option and got the Ritter only package. I'm not too upset about that, though. I wasn't thrilled with the seats they picked for season ticket holders in FF (too low and not all that close to the rink). The BCA seats were ok, but I prefer to be higher up in there.
What is the change to the 5-and-under policy? I was under the impression it had always been that way (in D-I, that is), it just wasn't always stated clearly anywhere. Maybe I am wrong. My kids are 3 and 6 now, so I prefer getting them a seat anyhow (I only bring one at a time). The 3-yr old is just way too energetic to keep on my lap for 2.5 hours at a time.

The current (and past) rule is that 5 and under don't actually get a season ticket - as in no pre-printed tickets for games at the Ritter and the BCA. For the games at the Ritter I have to go to the box office before each game and get a ticket for my son. At Blue Cross, we didn't have to do that, we just didn't get him a ticket.
Now that the seats are assigned at BCA I have to get him a ticket. But since RIT still doesn't pre-print tickets for the games at Ritter, he still doesn't officially get a season ticket, meaning he won't be assigned a seat in the area reserved for season ticket holders. So that leaves me with no choice but to go with the Ritter only tickets, or leave my son at home for the BCA and Frontier games.

The concern I had about the Ritter only season tickets is that I wanted to make sure I still got the perks, like 15% off hockey merch at the bookstore. If I'm reading the email I got today correctly I do still get those perks.

Great article about Coach Wilson talking about attendence at regionals and non-conference home game inequity on the main page.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

A side note is that RIT has been one of the few AHA teams to consistently get home OOC games.

It helps when you make one of those at an 11,000 seat arena that you've proved to be able to fill up. Once your new arena is complete, it wouldn't surprise me to see HEA or more teams in Ohio or Michigan on your schedule.

Consistently, yes. But... consistently ONLY 1 per season at Ritter (actually 12 in 8 seasons) and 1 per season at the aforementioned 10,000+ seat BCA (actually 8 in 9 seasons). Going back to 2006-07, that is. 2005-06 excluded since all games were NC games.
And very few of the home NC games have been against heavyweights (Cornell, UM, and BC, all at BCA). See below.
*note: yes, Merrimack and Union were amongst the best in the nation when they visited Ritter in 2010-11 and 2011-12, but are still not what anyone would call big-name or marquis programs.
2006-07: Ritter - 1 (Niagara); BCA - 0
2007-08: Ritter - 2 (Bowling Green, Niagara); BCA - 1 (Cornell)
2008-09: Ritter - 1 (Clarkson); BCA - 1 (St. Lawrence)
2009-10: Ritter - 1 (Niagara); BCA - 1 (Colgate)
2010-11: Ritter - 1 (Merrimack); BCA - 1 (Lowell)
2011-12: Ritter - 2 (Union, RPI); BCA - 1 (St. Lawrence)
2012-13: Ritter - 1 (Clarkson); BCA - 1 (Penn State)
2013-14: Ritter - 3 (St. Lawrence(2), Colgate); BCA - 1 (Michigan)
2014-15: Ritter - ? ; BCA - 1 (Boston College)

2009-10 included a game against Niagara (they were still in the CHA) and 2011-12 also had a game against RPI at the Ritter.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

RIT is also hosting St. Lawrence this year for 2 games.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

I wouldn't expect top teams to come to the Ritter, when RIT and the opposing team can make more money playing at BCA or on the road.

We also hosted Niagara in 06-07. And 07-08. Methinks someone forgot they used to be NC games.

And in 2013-14 we host St. Lawrence for a pair in addition to the Colgate and Michigan games.

My bad. I saw NU and just mentally filed them as AHA opponents now that it's a habit.
I knew they hosted RPI in '11, but failed to include for unknown reasons.
Can't explain leaving StL this year off either.

Ok, after appropriate corrections made...
12 NC home games in 8 seasons at Ritter
still 8 NC home games in 9 seasons at BCA

Although I will add that hosting of a CHA team (NU) does nothing to change the point. Although they had higher quality teams than the AHA, top to bottom, they were still a "mid-major" of sorts. The big boys aren't coming here all that much more than anywhere else, especially if you don't count the BCA. If it weren't for long time neighbors Niagara (CHA days), St. Lawrence, Clarkson, and Colgate, RIT would only have 9 NC home games (4 Ritter, 5 BCA) total so far in the 8+ seasons from 2006-07 and 2014-15.

I don't blame you for wanting to forget that RPI game. ;)

Once you get your new arena, I suspect you'll be able to get some more teams at home.
