Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Checking out the construction web cam. Looks like the future home of the Corner Crew is first work being done with concrete being poured into what appears to be the foundations of the stands for the NW corner of the Polisseni Ctr.

Also nice to see that Garbowsky and Lynch will be wearing the C and A for next years team. I have a good feeling this offseason that I haven't had the last couple of years. Has anyone heard any rumblings as to why the big recruiting class this year?

I would imagine that based on last years performance Wilson will want guaranteed depth. Perhaps he also wants to up the competition for roster spots?

Has anyone heard any rumblings as to why the big recruiting class this year?

***********RUMOR***********

I'm just passing along information that I have heard from a friend.

Apparently, according to someone within the Athletic Department, Watson has quit...

Additionally, Laura Chamberlain has also quit the Women's team.

***********RUMOR***********

I trust my friend as he is very involved in the ongoings at the school and knows a lot of people.

Do you have a link to this cam?

I have also heard that Watson was gone, but I have not heard anything about Chamberlain - that surprises me.

Edit: per someone on the women's thread: "Yes, she left the team right at the end of last season. It has to do with a co-op opportunity I believe."

Maybe competing for a spot was against Watsons interests?

Watson doesn't surprise. Explains the late commit by Rotolo. Honestly, I was wondering which of the 3 goaltenders had quit.

How so?

IF the rumor is true...
He didn't seem to respond all that well while competing for a spot last year. Maybe he feels he needs to know he's the undisputed # 1. Good Luck with that. Earn it first.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers - 2013 Offseason: The Future Looks Bright <<<

Or he feels #1 spot just isn't going to happen. Remember I'm basically pulling this speculation out of my best guess/nether regions.

You're spot on there. Being pulled for Ruby last year and riding the bench the rest of the year, basically told him that he wasn't going to be playing much for the remainder of his Tiger's career.

Exactly. No big loss here. At his best, I would not feel comfortable with Watty as a long term starter, and he was not at his best very often.

.... And we just went from being nice to being mean. Not cool. First off he played very well at times (I remember one game at Niagara specifically). He was considered a very good recruit (4th best goaltender recruit from INCH his year). Honestly, I feel bad for him. He could have been very good. Do I think Ruby played well enough that he probably would have won the job anyway? Yes. Still, Watson was and is a very good goaltender.
